I'm glad you posted this. I've been thinking about you guys. DH and I went to bed when they were first reporting the gunshots at MIT, and woke up to all that had happened since.

We're ok here in Belmont, thanks. I went to bed before any of this happened, and took the dog out before I even knew what was going on. Then wondered why it was so quiet. Oops.
The shootout happened in front of my friend's old apartment (she moved to DC three months ago). Scary.
I live north of where this all happened but my university is closed. My sister is down in West Newton close to where things happened in Watertown and they are staying inside.
What the actual fuck is going on down there? I have a Facebook friend in Watertown who's had crazy updates since 3am and now I hear the whole city is shut down? Stay safe you guys!
I'm at work downtown. Boss made me drive in. I'm overwhelmed and keep fucking up at work (its our biggest earnings day of the quarter) and I keep starting to cry at my desk. I just want to go home

That sucks, scm-- I would not be able to concentrate either. I am on vacation this week but my husband is at home in Waltham. He said he's staying put, and his office is closed. I'm supposed to fly back this afternoon, and I have no idea if/how I'll get home. stay safe, everyone!

Oh, scm, I'm sorry your boss is such an asshat. Hopefully this is over soon, but until then stay put!
One of my friends lives just a couple of streets over from where all this is going down. I sent her a text and told her to come here if they make her leave, but to stay under her bed otherwise. She said she got woken up by the gunfire and has been up ever since.

I know I don't post much on here but I'm glad you all of have been safe through all of this. I live north of the city almost in NH and am freaking out. Stay safe everyone. SCM that totally sucks and I hope you get out of work soon.
The live coverage right now is outside my office, I work in the arsenal building. Omg.
It is so surreal to see armored cars and swat teams in front of Old Navy. My brain is having difficulty processing the fact that this is 2 miles from my house, and not, like, on the other side of the world.

So I had a phone interview scheduled at noon today, but since that university is also closed, I assumed we'd just check in and reschedule later. Nope, the guy called my cell to interview me. I didn't answer, because it was a NH number I didn't recognize. And he wants me to call him back. Dude. I haven't looked at your job description since I applied, and I've spent the morning glued to the news. Oh, and I live TWO FUCKING MILES FROM A MANHUNT. I'm out. Sigh.

Yeah, I just sent him an email and said that I was sorry I missed his call, but I'd assumed it was canceled since the university was closed. It's one of those jobs that I applied for out of frustration, so if they aren't willing to reschedule, it's fine. And yeah, the helicopters have been circling all morning.
Hi Guys! I forgot to check in here. We're outside the areas that are closed down, but H works in Boston. He stayed home today. I'm work outside the city, so I'm at work. I almost forgot this was all going on until I turned the news on in my car. I had to turn it off, it was freaking me out too much. I'm glad you guys are all safe. Take it easy. Hopefully this will all be over soon. I'm glad they were able to figure out who did this so quickly, i really hope they catch the other guy soon.
