Ribcages hurt. A lot. My friend got a dragon done on hers. She has several tattoos already and she said it was by far the worst. Mostly because its skin then bone so there isn't much padding.
I just got my third tattoo, on the top right side of my chest. I'm not a skinny girl, and it definitely hurt more than the one on my back. The one on my back is the back side of my left hip; I actually laughed a lot while he was working on it because it was right in my ticklish spot. I have one on my foot also, but it's tiny and took about five minutes to do (literally), so I can't properly judge how much it hurt in comparison.
The only down side to a back tattoo is that you don't get to admire it whenever you feel like it.
After wanting a tattoo for, oh, a million years (ok, 15), I took the plunge just about a month and a half ago.
Reasons I waited so long: no idea what I wanted, my family didn't really love the idea, scared of the pain.
Why I finally did it: found a design I loved, and decided to suck up the pain (and it wasn't bad at all). I also have just been in a ton of therapy and realized how depressed I was from trying to appease other people and act like a 'good girl' and 'make everyone happy'. My tattoo was my first libertaing thing I did for myself.
I LOOOOOVEEEE it and have zero regrets. I did the paw print thing, after seeing a similar design on someone else. I just had an "ah ha" moment. I used the paw print idea and did some of my own graphic design. I am a huge animal person, and it represents that (as well as my current little kitty).
It is on my foot. I wanted something that could be visible most of the time, but that I could cover up if work or other situations warranted.
I think I tried on about a billion shoes trying to find just the right placement. HAHA. I also figured my foot would stay relatively unchanged over the aging process. I also like that it is a somewhat unusual place.
