My husband went scuba diving in Rockport this morning. He carpooled with a few other people and when they returned to the park-n-ride in NH, he realized his drysuit was not in the driver's car. Apparently, the guys he carpooled with kept taking items in and out of the car to make everything fit nicely when packing up and his drysuit was pulled out and then got left in the parking area... No idea who's fault this was. It just happened.
He drove an hour back to Rockport and the drysuit wasn't in the parking area. He was obviously incredibly worried this whole time. His drysuit is THE most expensive piece of scuba gear he owns and it was only a few months old. Plus, it was a huge debate between us whether he should be buying one in the first place back in the fall
So yeah, he went to file a police report and it turns out a police officer came across it while patrolling the area, recognized that it was a very expensive scuba item (from previous interactions with scuba divers at this dive site) and picked it up so that someone else wouldn't steal it. DH just got it back from the officer and is so so relieved that this is the outcome. Thank you Rockport police officer! Today's events rather defeated the point of carpooling, but at least it has a happy ending!
