I noticed that you did NROLFW in skippings thread. Did you follow the calorie intake in the book closely? I'm having a hard time mentally eating that many calories a day. I really don't want to gain but I want to get the most out of the program. Im getting close with my macros- my carbs are about 35-45% and protein is about 30%. I know I need to eat more but I'm scared.

I did not follow it super closely. Initially I just kinda flew with the high protein/low bad stuff general idea.
Later on when I was trying to up the amount of weight I was lifting and not succeeding and my weight loss/muscle gain had plateaued I upped my intake and it really made a huge difference. I was using MFP as well and I felt like it was harder to track how many calories my body was burning when lifting- this led to me seriously underestimating the amount of fuel I needed.
And yes, it is hard to push those extra calories- I added an extra protein shake in the a.m., a healthy afternoon snack and a reasonable treat after dinner and that usually made up the deficit.
Also, don't stress if you end up gaining a few pounds. Muscle is heavy, yo! Those will help you burn off more fat later.

I'm using MFP now, but I figured I'd do a 300-500 cal deficit with the books calculator, then just add a workout based on calories I need so it doesn't mess with my mind that I'm going over.
I need to buy some protein powder and I figured I'd add 2 eggs in the AM and more protein on my lunch salad.
