Hi RNV! Yes, I find the news overwhelming. I was at work Fri, so I missed most of the day but watched the evening live when they caught him. Now I just want to know how and why this happened. But mostly I want to forget about it.
I had a great weekend. Work is overwhelming, and I've been having trouble sleeping the last few weeks bc I can't stop thinking about work (which sucks btw). I went to visit my sister this weekend and slept soundly Sat and Sun night for the first time in like 3 weeks. It was *awesome*. I think being at her house and playing with her kids helped me just forget about work for once. Too bad I'm back in the thick of it today and it is going to be a rough week (we have an audit Wed/Thu/Fri).
On the plus side, in 2 weeks I go to Florida to visit my parents.
I am burned out on news, too. Too much to sift through; I just want bullet points on updates.
noodleoo, my H has trouble sleeping because of work, too. It sucks. You have my sympathy.
I had a good weekend. We got a bunch of yard work done and our front yard is looking pretty good with the fresh mulch out. Our tulips should bloom this week and I can't wait. We planted over 100 last year and they are coming up great.
Not a fan of the temperatures outside. I turned the heat off in our house last week, so it was absolutely freezing this morning when I got up. We have steam radiators so it wasn't worth turning it on at that point. The sun should warm it up during the day today.
We ran out of propane last night while grilling burgers for dinner. My H yelled out "oh no!!!" and our dog jumped up out of bed and ran to him, barking, thinking he was in danger. It was hilarious. But sad, because we had to finish cooking our burgers inside.
Thanks, guys! I ordered some melatonin so hopefully that will help.
pinkroses: we ran out of gas recently too while cooking. H was so disappointed! I don't care that much, but he was *really* looking forward to grilled burgers. In the oven wasn't the same to him.
Yes, it is COLD! I just want it to be 75 and sunny. Is that too much to ask for?
noodleoo -- We're going to FL in two weeks too! I can't wait. We'll be spending the majority of the week scuba diving in the Keys and basking in the sun
Also, have you tried Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Extra tea? It might help you sleep at night. They add Valerian to it. I've tried it a few times and it seems to help a little bit.

Ooh, your trip sounds way more fun than mine! I'll just be hanging at home with my parents. But at least it will be warm!

The tea sounds interesting, I'll have to try it!
Well, to be fair, we'll be hanging out with my parents and my sister the whole time
Make sure you get the "extra" version of the tea. There's a regular Sleepytime version that's just a normal herbal tea.
