The year I was expecting Abigail, I got DH a baby* shirt for Father's Day that said, "My Other Carseat is in a Porche." He drove a Porche at the time, so he loved it :-)
We already sort of celebrated Mother's Day/Father's Day because of our dogs, though :-) Not presents or anything, but I usually got him a card "from the dogs." That year he got a card from the dogs, as well as a card from me that talked about how he was about to be a father (plus the baby shirt).
ETA: To clarify that I meant a baby sized shirt, not a shirt for DH to wear!! I agree college logo stuff is good, too. When DD was maybe 2 weeks old DH went online and bought her a bunch of Auburn onesies and stuff -- he was so excited about them :-)
I'm due about a week before Mother's Day, and I've made it clear I expect a Mother's Day gift, lol. For Father's Day, I'm thinking maybe matching Mets gear for my husband and son.
Our anniversary is just a few days from Mother's Day, so last year I got a 2 part gift: a new nook (so I could read while BFing and pumping at work) and a gift card.
I got DH a bottle of his favorite whisky engraved with our lo's name (we knew it was a boy) and said happy 1st Father's Day. I had a planned c/s for the Thurs after Father's Day and ALMOST had them engrave the date on the bottle. luckily I did not, because I have birth the day before Father's Day.
Well, I bought a card the year I was pg. I was planning on getting something small and cheesy but DS decided to arrive two days before Father's Day and I never got the chance to get something. DH bought me a Tiffany's pendant on Mother's Day and had DS' name and birth date engraved on it after he was born.
