I have the Beco Butterfly II and Ergo and like both a lot! When she was a newb, I used the Beco more, than the Ergo for awhile and now I'm back to the Beco because it's so much easier to switch to a back carry since they are clipped in to a small harness on the inside. Oh, and the Beco Butterfly carriers have some really cute designs.
Sorry ladies, I was bad at replying to this thread bc life caught up with me this week. Thanks for all your advice! I tried on a bunch of carriers at a local shop and ended up going with the Tula Toddler Carrier (also, the babywearing group I am part of here recommended it). I liked that it was a local company too. The ergo was gifted to us, and I made some moola this week while doing freelance work so I bought myself the carrier as an early Mother's day gift to myself Haha. It seems a lot easier to carry LO in it so far. The front carry is possible because it goes up a lot higher (18" and the ergo is about 14.5-15") and the curved shoulder pads feel better overall. This one is made to carry kids all the way through preschool, which seems crazy to me but also awesome for hiking and summer trips in our not too distant future! We will probably still use the ergo. H has written off wearing LO entirely, which makes me sad, but maybe I can get him to try this one and it may be easier for his back. It feels like it is built for for larger body types (unlike the ergo, I didn't have to go all the way to the end of the waist strap!)
I'm still having some back pain but I think that's from the way I carry him normally (on my hip) without a carrier around the house, etc. I need to work on my back! I tried back carry in the store and it was comfy too, although I got help. I did it successfully at home on the couch and in front of a mirror. Hope I can get good enough to do it for shopping purposes! That's the tricky part. Love it so far!

Glad you found something you like!
I still use my Ergo (mostly back) and ring sling (occasionally) with DD. The videos on YouTube helped when I was first learning the back carry with DS, and now it is easy.
