So we buy organic for the dirty dozen plus whatever organic is on sale that week at sprouts. Should I be buying organic apple juice too? I buy the hansen's all natural apple juice from sprouts, but it just dawned on me that it was probably made with non organic apples and that I am feeding jake apple juice with traces if pesticide in it.
i would buy organic too, just because apples are top of the list right?
though recently I saw something about how even organic food is terrible. But what can you do
Yup, all of this.
I watched Penn & teller's episode of Bullshit that was about organics and the person was saying that organic food still has nasty stuff on it, it's just a different kind of nasty stuff.
But I recently went to a nutritionist and she recommended organic for anything you eat the skin of.

We buy the organic apple juice, just because of the placement of apples on the bad list. It's tough. It's hard to know what to trust, but I have to be okay with what we can afford for our budget and what's available to us.
I was wondering this today actually. She hasn't had juice yet but I noticed like the Mott's for tots had a lot less sugar than the organic juices I looked at...so I don't know. I want to try more with milk before I give her juice.

There is a thing about arsenic levels in apple juice, organic included. There is a link somewhere that rates the brands. I don't have it but some of the organic were higher than store brands, maybe. It is a fuzzy memory. I'm sure you can find the list.

I recall that now too! Uuuuugh. Seriously can't our country just bottle quality stuff without adding in crappy shit? And, is a reasonable price too much to ask for?
i water down his juice like crazy as is, and he rarely drinks any, but still.
Dh bought organic bananas the other day and I don't like the taste at all. They have a thick skin so they should be okay to buy non organic. I haven't given William juice yet but I would try to do organic of possible.

Psst... the Mott's for Tots is just their regular juice diluted with water. Very clever marketing strategy. You could easily do that at home with an organic or non-organic juice you choose to try in the future, and save yourself a little money.
Wait. So they dilute their product with a free substance, give it a specialty label, and them probably charge more for it?

Well ok then! Sounds like the sunscreen strategy Dorothy posted about. thanks pink sapphires!
No, you should buy local organic, free range apples, picked by a certified vegan and then juice your own. Duh!
I actually get the Honest Kids juices that look like capri sun pouches at Costco. They only get juice when we host playgroup every couple of weeks, which cuts down on the mess and are much lower in sugar than others.

Here is the list which the FDA disputes based on the data being collected from lots as apparently the levels can vary by lot. It is interesting that they regulate the levels in water but not juice.
