So we had A in the emergency room earlier this week because she kept having out of control fevers, stopped eating and taking fluids. They told us it was viral, just to treat with tylenol and motrin every three hours. She's finally started nursing, taking some fluids, even eating a tiny bit of food. She seems to be on the upswing with it, but all of a sudden today, she's now broken out on this red, tiny, bumpy rash all over her tummy, chest, back, and now up her neck and cheeks. She seems better still, it's not itching, but it's not subsiding either. Google has led me to think it's roseola, but I don't know. Matt just left for a conference until Sunday, so I don't want to take her back to the ER if I don't have to. But obviously, I will if necessary. What do you think?
I will call the pedi in the morning if it's still there, but I never get a damn call back from them, and I can't even call now, no one is there. They just say go to ER. Our healthcare is ridiculous, lol.
Hugs to you, cream! I didn't realize sweet A was sick while I was offline. I'm glad she's starting to feel better and hope she recovers quickly. I would totally trust your judgment -- if you think she's doing a bit better, then I'd wait until tomorrow and call your pedi. No use dragging both of you in to the ER as long as her breathing is fine and temperature isn't too high.

Thanks, girls! Yeah she seems otherwise okay now, no fever, just the rash, so that's what makes me lean towards it. Thanks for the confirmation of your thoughts too, much appreciated!
Oh no! Poor A!! I'm actually dealing with the SAME thing! Cam had a fever Saturday night, Sunday, and Monday. I took him to the doc on Monday and he had a red throat, no strep, so they said it was probably a viral throat infection. Fever broke Monday night and never came back. I noticed this red, pin prick bumps/dots ALL over his back. I noticed it last night in the bath. Tonight, it covered his entire back, belly, some on his face and arms and legs.
BUT, he just had watermelon/melon for the first time. So I'm wondering if its an allergy?! He also just popped a molar, so idk. So many things that I have no idea what it is. I'll be calling the pedi in the morning. When you call or go in, let me know what they think A's is!! Rashes kind of freak me out
Yes it does. I think this is what my LO had this weekend. Fever for 4 days. No other symptoms then a rash. She's better now but it was a full week. I hope she feels better soon. It's hard to see them so sad and sick. I'm sorry!
This is weird, we have been dealing with the same thing. Crankiness overall, fever, not eating much, coughing a lot, and then just yesterday she broke out with these tiny red bumps all over her belly and legs. Dr google brought up roseola, I was also wondering if it could be a reaction from MMR vaccine, dr said it could cause a fever like 10 days after getting it. We ended up not taking her in because her fever went down today, pedi said she is fine, prob just a bug.

Yup that also sounds just like roseola- nothing you can do about it- but I hope everyone's little ones feel better soon!!! I think D has roseola but I'm waiting on the rash- she's had a high, unexplained fever since Sunday. Before bed I saw a few dots on her tummy so I'm wondering if I will wake up to a rash. For those that have experienced it, does the rash seen itchy to them?

Wow! So many of us going through this right now! I hope everyone is on the mend, because whew, sweet girl was so miserable, it was definitely hard to watch. Poor babies, I'm sorry we've all just gone through this. Thanks so much for all the responses. ladybug, A doesn't seem bothered by it, she's not itchy at all, and she seems way more herself, except her appetite hasn't fully come back yet. I noticed it starting small like that, thought maybe it was heat rash, but it spread quick. She seems otherwise okay though, so I hope that means Laney is coming out of it too.

Ya, my pedi friend said it's very common for 1yr olds. Today was the first day she seemed a liiiiittle more like herself but still a fever and now the bumps (that do look a little like heat rash) in a way I hope it's roseola only because then I know why she was having 100-103 fevers! Dr said it could be from getting all 4 molars but it doesn't typically get that high. We'll see. I'm glad A is starting to feel better though!! I read the rash can last from a few hours to a few days- so hopefully it's over soon!
Poor a!!! Good grief! I hope she feels better soon. I think it is insane what you have to go through with your healthcare. I called our pedi at 2am this morning because earlier in the day he fell and hit his head pretty bad. I thought one of his pupils was dilated so i was flipping out...and they called me back at 2:15am!
