This morning was the last bottle and last bit of formula we are giving Lillian. She goes to DC and they give them breakfast around 9am, actually they call it a snack but it's usually yogurt, oatmeal. Starting tomorrow I will give her a sippy with WCM in it and see how that goes. How soon does your kid eat breakfast after waking up? Or do they have milk, a snack (fruit or something), then a little later something more? I know I will have to see what works for us, just wondering how it goes in your house.
Cam wakes up anywhere between 7-9. LOL. Usually I give him his sippy of WCM right when he wakes up, and he just sits there and sips it while he watches PBS. Then he eats breakfast around 9:15-9:30. So, sometimes thats shortly after he wakes up, other times its awhile.
I bf K right when he wakes up, but he usually doesn't get any solids until his breakfast at DC. If I have a lot to do to get ready i'll put him in his seat with some fruit slices, just to keep him occupied. If I were weaning and cutting bottles, I'd probably still give him something asap in a sippy, just because he's used to that early-morning snack.
Today was our first day without BFing first thing... so I got her right out of her crib at 7:30, changed her dipe and we went downstairs for breakfast (baby cereal bar + strawberries). She went down for nap and when she wakes up, I'll give her a bottle of formula/WCM at 10:30ish. Then lunch around 1, a sippy of WCM at 3:30/4, dinner at 5:30ish and a bottle of formula/WCM at 7.
I guess eventually I'll replace the 10:30 bottle with a snack (like a fruit pouch or cheese) and sippy of WCM.
R gets a bottle of WCM in the AM as soon as she wakes up and usually a few yogurt melts while I finish getting ready and the car packed up. She gets to daycare between 7:30and 7:45 and they feed her real breakfast shortly thereafter about 8 AM. She's down to am AM bottle and a PM bottle and takes WCM out of a cup at daycare.
ruby412 - You still giving V nutrigrain bars? I remember your post because I had just tried them with L and she spit them out. I tried again with a different flavor (mixed berry) and she loves them.
I will definitely need to give her milk when she wakes up, we also have a melt down in our house if there was no bottle ready within minutes. She is still getting used to WCM, last night she had 2oz with dinner, which is a lot for her. Before bed she takes a few sips of water and that's it. She started refusing the PM bottle about a month ago.
I bf her in the am usually at 5 or 6 ish then she goes back to sleep til 7-8 ish. and she eats at daycare. They give her a pancake usually and some fruit, sometimes yogurt too.
At the weekend I bf as usual then as soon as she gets up I get her some food. Now she'll walk over to the chair and point at it so I know she's hungry.
I'm not sure what will happen when we wean the morning nursing session.
