Since last fall (weather permitting) I've been walking at a local park a few mornings a week. The first day I was there, I met a bunch of people who are all regulars there with their dogs. They took me in like a long lost friend, and I really enjoy my walks there. They're pretty tight-knit (have each other over, exchange e-mails, etc), but they consider me a regular. Even if I don't have a dog
Found out Wednesday that one guy's parents were both in the hospital. Today the group told me that the guy's father died.
Would it be weird to give him a card the next time I'm there, on Monday? Or should I just express my condolences?
I feel like giving him a card in person might be a little awkward. Does he open it, does he not, do you stand there awkwardly while he reads it? I'd probably mail it to his house. Do you know his address? If not, I'd just say you are sorry in person.
