We love going to this place. It was tradition to take our dog each year for her Bday but her Bday is 5 days before D's so we missed it 2 years in a row. We may have had her 1st Birthday there with 3 other dogs and there may have been favor bags.
I would love to be a scientific consultant for TV/movies. Some of the things I hear/see are SO inaccurate. Plus, I have a fascination with the behind-the-scenes atmosphere of entertainment.

Apparently, unclejesse and I are of like mind. I'd like to own a bakery-oriented cafe, that serves soup and sandwiches, as well, that is super dog friendly, like, the patio is specifically for dog people and if you don't like dogs go inside or gtfo. It wouldn't be a dinner place, so I would close by 2 or 3 and be able to enjoy some of the day.

I stopped watching House because of this. The last straw was an episode where a girl had all these crazy symptoms and was dying and they finally finally figured out she had sickle cell.....ummmm, you would have figured that out on the first blood smear dumbasses!

There's a place like that around the corner from me. J and I go almost every day, it's the best

Not science, but as a computer person this made me lol

This is my dream as well.
I also think running an animal sanctuary would be awesome but is probably wind up getting eaten by a tiger bc I wanted to pet it.
To be honest, my dreams always surround children and animals and nature. I'd really love to work at a large zoo doing educational programs for kids and interacting with them and the animals.

Can I come too? I would so love this!
Absolutely! You just don't know what a revelation this was for me. I think I might have just figured out what I want to be when I grow up!
1. become an author. I used to write poetry and I have a few stories I've started but I never seem to have the time to work on them. 2. Open an urban literacy center. It would be free to the public and would offer tutoring, homework help, job skills, English language lessons and whatever else the community needed.
I also like laurack's Professional baby sniffer, so there's #3

I would want to own my own business. Probably something having to do with animals or a non profit or maybe a bar (yeah that is way off the other two). Something that wouldn't keep me too busy though, I want to spend my time with lo.

3rd like mind here, although I cannot decide if I want to have it in Florence, or somewhere in the Caribbean. I love them both.
My goal is to become a Health and Wellness Life Coach (if I capitalize it all it looks more professional). I actually do want to make this a reality by the time I'm 40. I'm already a massage therapist, but I also want to get a nutritionist certification and personal training certification and be a one stop shop of awesome for people to come to and learn to be healthy.

I am working on my dream! I am going to get my MA in Medieval Viking Studies and spend my life doing research and digs (!!!!) for viking artifacts/history.
I am flexible as to which route I take in terms of the venue I am working in. I would love to be a part of the Icelandic national museum, but I know many universities have "museums" within them. I love historical stuff. I love museums and figuring out how and what gets displayed. I also love academia.

Oh! And a side dream to fulfill my love of cooking is to run a B&B in Iceland that is American style (they do not have a huge amount like we know of here as far as I know). DH is actually really excited about this lol.

I really like my job, but miss teaching dance. So...I would like to be a part-time researcher/analyst looking for online fraud and a part-time Scottish highland dance teacher. And I would like those 2 jobs to add up to 20 hours a week so I can spend the rest of the time with G.

If finances were not an issue, I would have 4-5 kids. I would do something outside the home, but it would be more on a volunteer basis, working with education, youth, literacy, my church, etc. We'd have a huge home and hire all related chores out
I work part time (20 hours a week) and stay home with my kids the remainder. I love my job and would continue to do it. Most of you know what I do but for those that don't my title is cord blood collection specialist, I work at a program that is a joint program between Dana Farber and Brigham and Women's in Boston. I consent mom's that are delivering and are willing to donate, take the placenta after it is delivered and get the blood from it, after it's cryo-preserved at Duke in NC and held for a patient in need. Normally enough for a child sometimes an adult, it's used as a "last resort" when someone either doesn't have a match through a sibling or on the bone marrow registry. The blood is used in transplant for blood cancers and other diseases that are curable with a cord blood transplant such as sickle cell anemia.
If I was super rich I would probably volunteer a lot for causes I believe in but if not I am happy to continue what I am doing .
I think I'm going to steal devonpow's idea. I really like staying at home and I can't imagine any job I would like better. When the kids are out of the house, I would want to do something where I can set my own schedule, like being a travelling library story-time teller.
Or maybe a free certified lactation consultant. Or both.
If finances weren't an issue, in a few years I would love to take a year or two and travel around the continent in a really nice RV, homeschooling all over the place. If we could hire a driver.

I always told DH I would love someday to be able to take a one year sabbatical and travel around Europe or something. The kids would be able to learn another language, study world history, maybe even learn the metric system.
