this was almost a nightmare come true

swimming at the gym today











and the lights go out.

I thought I was going to have a heart attack.   Luckily, other people were in the pool with me so I didn't scream, but holy guacamole.

Ick. When I was lifeguarding, that happened with alarming regularity. Once I was swimming laps when it happened and I thought my eyes had stopped working or something. LOL

I'm always afraid the lights are going to go out on me while I'm in the work bathroom. No lights, no windows, just pitch black.

So what did you do?

They turned the lights out on my mom when she was in the locker room once. She now always carries a flashlight with her.

I stopped, made sure I wasn't crazy and the guys in the pool with me were just as freaked out as I was. Then the emergency lights came on, so we all started swimming again.

namasteak the breathing is much better! I'm going again tomorrow and hoping I can get just the generalized open water fears under control.
