Kai has loved solid food from the get-go and has usually eaten a lot at every meal. He also likes to nurse, but he had taken himself down to 2-3 times a day. For the past week or so he CANNOT get enough of the boob, and he hardly eats any solids at all! WTH is going on?? I don't mind nursing more, but since he's at daycare most of the day and I don't pump, I don't think I'm making that much anymore. I'm sure it's probably nbd but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or what might be the reason.

In the grand scheme of things I would just say that the child led weaning progression isn't always linear, just like sleep.
In the short term I would guess teething or a period of heightened sensitivity that he deals with by nursing. H went on boob strike during teething, D nurses more when teething.
Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one! It seems like such a strange development after six months of enthusiastically eating solids. As usual thedahliharpa what you say makes a lot of sense.

We've been doing this, too. I offer Zoe solids, mostly to keep the routine up, but she wants to nurse and play with her food. She went from eating a whole individual cup of yogurt to eating half a cup and nursing twice as much.
