ladybug, I thought of you today at music class when my child abandoned me. He often leaves during class time, but this was during pre-class play time. He blatantly walked up to a lady, and put his arms out to let him sit in her lap. She obliged, but it was so awkward. Her son ran around us stealing Micah's toys. We thought that he was over it when class started, but he kept going back over to her, standing in front of her and just staring at her straight-faced. At one point, he sat himself in the corner and watched alone while we played with shakers without him. I had to remind myself of your post and whoever pointed out that no one else in the room probably noticed the awkward.
And uhm, if it wasn't you that had the awkward music class situation, then sorry for tagging you! If it was, then I feel your pain!
Oh my gosh! Unless this happened to Ladybug too, it was me! It was sooo awkward and uncomfortable and I dwelled on it for days, so I totally understand how you're feeling! Why, oh why, must our children torture us like this?? We've been back to music several times and it hasn't happened again, so I hope the same will be true for you!
Also, I decided in situations like that in the future, to make myself feel better I'm going to say something like, "Oh, she just loves going to strangers/new people these days! She's so social!" And then I'll duck behind some furniture to be embarrassed alone. lol
