My pre-race meal is usually a peanut butter banana sandwich. kams, you're not weird - I pack it like you do, though if I have space, I just bring the whole jar. If I'm feeling wiiild, I add a small dollop of nutella.

Ok, this I can definitely do. I am arriving there on Thursday afternoon and we won't leave for the hotel (it is 2 hrs from my friend's place) until Friday afternoon, so I will have no trouble getting a few supplies.
I am staying overnight in a hotel next weekend before my half and am bringing a piece of wheat bread, some pb and a banana to eat that morning. And bottled water.

I always eat a half bagel with peanut butter and honey, and have a cup of coffee. There is a brand of peanut butter called Justin's that sells it in small almost individual serving packets. And then I have just picked up a packet of honey from the coffee stand within the grocery store. It works perfectly when staying in a hotel and you don't want to have a big jar of peanut butter and big thing of honey.
One time I brought my blender and made a smoothie.
Whoa, that's hard core!
I have a sensitive stomach and I have to be careful about what I eat before a race, so I'd pack my own stuff. Probably a banana and a Luna or Lara bar. If you don't like bananas, maybe try grapes or a pear, or some dried fruit. I'm trying to think of fruit that travels well. Apples don't fill me up much, but you could do an apple with PB.

That's my exact scenario this morning. I usually eat a bagel with PB before my long runs/races. I brought my bagel and PB. Unfortunately, there's no toaster - I just popped it in the microwave to get it warm...not the same, but it was still okay. They also have a coffee pot in my room, so I'm covered there.
Before every long run, hotel or not, pb&j and coffee. If I'm staying in a hotel room I pack everything. Even my own coffee maker if I suspect theirs sucks as most hotel room coffee makers do. I have to create as much of "home" as I can. My body hates change lol Good luck!!!!
So are these the things that make people think runners are freaking weirdos? Packing our suitcases with blenders, sandwiches, and coffee pots for a single breakfast?
It obviously makes perfect sense to me, but to the world looking in, I think we look like a bunch of neurotic nuts!

I have thought about packing the blender - glad I'm not the only one! Runners are definitely a bit different. That's what makes us such a community - united by our crazy!
