I bought kale, because organic kale was on sale and I had never had kale before. When looking for what the hell to do with it, I came across smoothies. I just made a smoothie that consisted of kale, fresh mango, frozen bananas and a little bit of yogurt and I enjoyed it. I don't enjoy green foods in general. Patsy mimed vomiting when I told him what it was. I ended up making two glasses worth, so I put one in the freezer and plan to eat it for dessert after dinner. Zoe also enjoyed it.
Yum, I'm a big kale fan, but I always feel like such a crunchy hippy yuppie (if that combo makes sense) when I go to Whole Foods and buy my organic kale. I also always have a bag of frozen kale in the freezer to toss into pasta or frittatas.
I like making kale chips and sausage, kale, white bean soup.
Mmmm, me too! Do you use the smitten kitchen recipe for the soup?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using proboards
I got the recipe from a friend. Is it the same?
1 lb mild or hot italian sausage in the casing 1/2 lb kale, stemmed and rough-chopped 1 large red or yellow bell pepper, cut into medium dice 2 cans (16 ounces each) white beans, such as cannellini, drained and rinsed 2 tsp minced fresh rosemary - optional 2 tbsp vegetable or olive oil 1 medium onion, chopped 2 cans (16 ounces each) low-sodium canned chicken broth salt and pepper
bring the sausage and 1/4 cup (and oil if using lean sausage) to a simmer in a pot. cover and cook over medium heat until the sausage loses its raw color, about 8 minutes. uncover the pan and cook the sausage until the liquid evaporates, 1 to 2 minutes longer. fry the sausage, turning it once until it browns on both sides. remove from pot; cut into 1/2 inch slices.
heat oil in pot. add the onions; saute to soften slightly, about 2 minutes. add kale, bell pepper, sausage, beans, and chicken broth. partially cover and simmer until vegetables are tender and flavors have blended, about 20 minutes. add rosemary, salt and pepper to taste. serve!

I made kale apple juice once and it was really good. I'm getting kale in my CSA box this week and plan on making kale and ricotta stuffed shells with it.
We juice in the mornings, so we have lots and lots of kale! I like it better than spinach. My favorite juice is kale, celery, cucumber, apple, lemon, and ginger.
I love kale! But I also babywear, cloth diaper, avoid meat, and co-slept for nine months, so kale's not to blame for my crunchy card.
I babywear, cloth diaper and partially EC, and still co-sleep. But I hate kale! And am married to a meat-a-tarian and eat thus eat meat quite regularly. I hope that means my crunchy card hasn't been revoked?

Yeah, we still co sleep at 13 months... haha
How are you? I feel like we don't see you enough!
We probably would still be co-sleeping if my kid weren't so aggressive with his loving wake-up punches.
I lurk a lot but can't figure out posting from the app. The synapses briefly connected tonight, and I visited the website instead, which is what I should've thought to do the first time the app caused me to curse and twitch.

You should make a mental note, I like reading what you have to say
