Hello all. I'm thinking of getting a manicure with some sort of nail art/design. It's popular where I live and acceptable where I work and basically I figure..why not? It's like the easiest thing to take off if I don't like.
Anyways, I almost never get manicures, and last time I got any sort of fake nails on was prom. Can I just get a manicure with the nail art situation but NOT any fake stuff on my nails (like acrylic or gel or silk?)
What is the language I use at the salon...Is it called "nail art?" Do I say "I would like a manicure and I would like some nail art please?"
Then show them my pintrest inspiration picture?
That seems right but I'm not sure how the "art" part works, like if it's an overlay or free hand or what exactly.
Anyways, thanks for any fingernail insight you have
You just get a manicure and then let them know that you want them to do a design as well. They may have a set of designs that they show you on a board of fake nails that you have to pick from, but you can cerainly bring your Pinterest picture and see if it's something they can do. They will use nail polish and a toothpick and/or tiny brush to make the design. If it has little crystals or anything, they just use a tiny dot of nail glue.
