I still don't get rhytmic gymastics.
And this seems like the correct place to admit that I've been reading autobiographies of gymnasts. I'm currently reading Nadia Comenici's, and have already read Dominique Moceanu and Jennifer Sey.
The mother of an acquaintance was the coach for the US Rhythmic Gymnastics team back in the day. I'd never watched it prior to meeting her and was still of the "I don't get it" when we first met. But seeing some of the stuff they do, I get it. This girl is amazing. Did you see her coaches (or whomever was in the background by the judges' table) hugging each other at the conclusion of her routine? I did and I smiled. They looked so thrilled.

I read the Moceanu one. Are the other two good? I wanted Moceanu to include more gymnastics in hers. I understand that wasn't really her point in writing, but still.

I've enjoyed them. Sey's was a bit more on the scary side of gymnastics, and Comenici's is getting more into post-gymnastics and actuallly gave me some insight into Bela. I'm woefully under-knowledged on Romanian politics, so it's been an interesting very sneak peek into it. I might try to find some other books about it after this. The writing of Comenici's is different, written kind of as 'letters' to a fan, but not really. I don't know - it's hard to explain.
