Makes sense - especially since you have a big property and there's landscaping in front of the fence. We have an estate style fence that we've been staining by hand - so much work! And not cheap - at $45/gallon for Sikkens stain, we'll probably use 6-8 gallons when it's all done.
We're done with our side, we just have the neighbors long side to finish (DH's job, hehe).
Sounds beautiful though. My parents use the Sikkens stain on their deck - pricey but good quality.
We have a weird mishmosh in the back. The longest length of fencing is the neighbor's fence so we have the nice side and the others are our fence so we have the bad side. At least now they all match in height and style. But since the neighbor's haven't sealed their fence, this is why we aren't staining or sealing this new fence so that in a couple of years everything will match.
