My client (the 8-year-old) kept trying to bolt out of the school today. As he got halfway across the parking lot before I caught him yesterday, we were on TOP of it today. Another staff member and I dove for the door as he started running for it. Then, like he could SEE the bullseye on it, he punched me as hard as he could straight in the nipple. People across the room heard it fwoop. I felt the whole thing compact like one of those collapsible funnels. Tomorrow, I am wearing a coconut bra. Or some men's sport cups fashioned into a bra.

OMG! I used to work in special ed, in a program for emotionally disturbed kids. I've seen a lot of things, and I've been kicked, but never smack in the nipple. Cheesus, that must've hurt. But I have to say, I'm giggling inside a little at the sound of it going "fwoop."

My mom had a coworker punched in the stomach. She was pregnant. It caused an abruption. It took that incident for the school to take the mom to due process to get him help. The parent said it was the school not her son who was the issue. The teacher delivered the baby at 24 weeks and unfortunately he didn't survive.

Wtf. What did the kid's mom have to say about that?
Also, why did they have a pregnant woman working with a violent child?!

We're fine. Getting kicked and punched is part of the job. Its just not usually so personally offensive.
That's sad about the baby. I am glad, glad that I finished having babies before I went into this. I want to follow the therapists who are pregnant around with bubble wrap. A lot of their clients get super sweet and protective. But we've also had clients threaten to kill the babies.

Just seeing this....I am not sure why she was working with him other than she is the emotional support teacher in the district. I know the parent; we went to high school together. The mom is too high to care about anything and blames everything on "the establishment". My dad is involved as he is on the school board (my mom has taught there since I was 14 and my dad got on the school board about 10 years ago when I was in my mid 20's).
