I just paid the registration fee for my first 10k - in 3 weeks. I seriously feel a little nauseous. My last 5k was the suck (like, I came in at like 38+ minutes) and I SO want to do well at this one (well, for the turtle that I am, anyway).
Someone hold me or offer hair pets or something ...

You're gonna be great! I've got my first 10k this weekend. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't terrified.
I've got one this weekend, I'll think I've broken a world record if I do close to 70 min! Just have fun and know that if its not good you've got a year to get a PB!
Have fun with it! If nothing else, it will be a bench mark for your progress over the course of the racing season. I have great respect for anyone who runs, and continually pushes themselves to go further or run faster whether it be a mile, a 5k, or a marathon.
Just try to enjoy it! I am also reallllly slow (and have gotten SLOWER over the last year?!) so my half coming up feels like that to me too--just dreading the whole thing. But I know I can do it, and so can you!
