The 10k I've just signed up for only has two aid stations total. I really need to hydrate at least an ounce a mile or I get all kinds of dizzy (the reason for my sucktastic 5k performance a few weeks ago).
So, I've come to the conclusion that I need to carry my own hydration. I'm eyeballing the Salomon S-Lab system (which uses soft flasks), but it's pricey and obviously, you can't put a soft flask in the dishwasher to keep it clean. Would I be better off using an amphipod instead?
I need input on this - this is a whole new world for me. What would you do?
For short runs I have a nathan add on bottle that fits in my iPod belt For long runs I have a nathan 4 bottle belt I add nuun to at least 2 of them on long runs or my one bottle if its really hot out
You mean like a bottle of dasani? I probably could, but I don't really like holding anything while I run (I like to keep my hands relaxed) so it would be more comfortable to do a bottle with a strap system.
I don't think I need a belt, as it's unlikely I'll do many runs longer than 10k.
No, like one of the Nathan handhelds. That is what I use when I run, but if you don't like having something in your hand, the fuel belt option may be better.
