I got an email that it is Founder's Day at my high school. This was the highlight of spring for us. Basically, you know it will happen in May, but do not know the day and then you are surprised with a day of no classes just fun games and stuff and then strawberries and ice cream at the end in honor of the founder's favorite dessert.
My first year the announcement was made via slide show. I can't remember what the topic was supposed to be, but then they started showing pictures from the previous year and then this huge picture of strawberries. Sweet Dreams was playing and the entire room went crazy. Good times

WHAT? That sounds awesome! We had nothing like that at my school I had HS nostalgia last weekend, too. I was in show choir (yes, like Glee but BETTER!) in HS and they have a huge end of the season performance every year and it was last weekend. I've gone to the show the last couple of years with another friend who was in it with me. We always see people we know, our choir director, or retired choreographer. We talk about all the fun trips we went on and how it was such a great time for us.

It was so fun and you are assigned a team (our school colors) when you enter the school, so they have games red vs. white and tally who won at the end of the day. PLus, you get to play against/with your teachers which was fun.
I sang in high school, madrigals, but have not been back for a performance. I should do that with a friend of mine. We were the lone altos of the group. lol
Your HS sounds like a lot more fun than mine. We had a pep rally in the fall that was about it lol.
lol It was, but it was also really hard and at times, pretty demanding. I think this was a nice treat for the students after year of hard work.
Still, I have such fond memories, including some awesome teachers. And I love that our gym teacher and counselor were partners (I think they had had a commitment ceremony) and had a child and this was all seen as something that should be a given. This was back in the mid 90s.

Did you go to boarding school? I have a college friend who did and she still gets super nostalgic about HS even though it sounds like it was a weird combo of Harry Potter and Mean Girls lol.

Part boarding, though I was a day student. It was fun and not too mean girlish. Our class was pretty small, so I don't know, it just didn't happen and everyone seemed to have their group of friends. what has been neat is going to the reunions and talking with everyone, no matter if we were friends, and just hearing how well they are doing.
We had senior skip day, which for me, was the 97th day of classes since we were the class of '97. I'm not sure if they still do that or not, though.
This was all we had too - just the senior skip day. Well, days. We had two.
I went to school with a bunch of immature idiots, so our first was 4/20/05
Then the entire class realized what idiots they were and made the "real" skip day 05/05/05 (since we were the class of 05). They made this decision after everyone skipped on 4/20 . I remember one teacher FLIPPED out on the class for have two skip days.
