Ha! I don't know but I know exactly what you mean. I see so many colors on the internet I think I love and then I slap them on my wall to test. They never look right IRL without a ton of photo editing apparently. I'm also learning I like my color a bit more intense with less more neutral accessories. I like the wall color to be the focal point basically. I have a house that's naturally light with lots of windows so I learned I can get away with it more. When I'm true to myself I always come out happier. I did a tann-ish beige in Rubes room becuase it was all the rage at the time and everyone was encouraging me to go neutral and the tans with black furniture were the new in thing. To this day it's just okay. I don't love it at all. I should've done the grey or green I wanted originally.
I had the same issue with my bedroom. About half-way through the paint job, I realized that I wasn't digging the color. Ended up going with something just a tad lighter, but it made a HUGE difference once the whole room was covered.
If you should give the Valspar Tranquility a try. It might not look much different than the color that's currently on the wall, but once you paint over it, you might see a huge difference.
We have SW Tidewater in our main bath. I like the color a lot but I also don't like very bright wall colors so I tend to gravitate toward blues with a gray undertone. We also have white wainscoting which helps break up the wall color. I feel like you can be more bold with wainscoting. Would that be an option for you?
Have you checked put SW Halycyon Green? It's in pur 1/2 bath and I adore it! It sounds like what you may be looking for. Don't let the name fool you, it's definitely more aqua than green.
i have a really hard time picking paint colours because the lighting in our house is weird and we have low, low ceilings. what could be a great colour with 10' ceilings looks cave-like under 7.5' ceilings.
and i'm all for repainting if you're not happy. although it is key to figure out what you want next :-)
Been there! But the ideal shade you want sounds a lot like SW Rainwashed. I have it on my main floor. It is the perfect shade of aqua to me. Just enough green and blue, but light.
