FB updates about George Jones are going to give me a stroke.

My FB feed is full of George Jones memorial pictures and status updates. I ended up deleting on girl.  The day he died, she posted 9 related post in less than 4 hours.  My favorite from her was about a hour after it was announced he died, "I miss George Jones." Today's gem is from a different person.  It says, "George Jones, gone too soon.  No one will fill your shoes."  Really? Gone too soon?  He was fucking old!  He was in his 80s and drank like a fish.  He had a great life and lived to do more than most people can imagine doing. 

I wonder if this is a Nashville problem.  I have noticed more from my TN friends and family.

He was all over the news with his dui's etc. in the 90s and is referenced in a recent hit song (driving down a dirt road...swerving like George Jones...)just from a pop culture reference how do you not know about a pretty major country music player like him?

I do know about him, I mean most of the people on my FB probably have no idea. Today is probably the first time I have heard anything on him in the news around here, and country music is not really popular here.
