Outdoor cushions for a chaise lounge were stored for a year and had been chewed on by a critter when we pulled them out of the shed. The spots are definitely repairable in ways that would not be too noticeable. I'm concerned that something may be nesting inside (insects or spiders). H says repair, I'm leaning toward new. Would you repair or just buy a new one?
These were fairly pricey cushions and are no longer made in the same fabric.
It seems to me that bugs hanging out inside of your cushions is a risk anytime, not just because something chewed on them. Unless you plan to buy new ones every single year I'd just repair them. Maybe seal them up tight inside some garbage bags for a while to smother anything that may have taken up residence? (would that work? Seems like that would work.)
They were stored in garbage bags (double bagged and tied tightly) so I'm not sure that it would help to kill anything inside. You are right though about the bugs always being an issue with outdoor cushions. Thanks for the perspective.
