Also, my two running friends joined team in training. I am scared means I have to find new running buddies for my long weekend runs, or continue running with them (and the rest of the team in training people) and constantly be pressured into joining. The team in training people are super pushy on Facebook, and I'd hate to be pressured like that I'm person.
just tell them that you are TnT too. they don't have to know you aren't. seriously, do this and report back for ebeth's amusement.
all I could think about while eating the chilli I packed myself for lunch was how much tastier it would be with fritos. sadly, I have no fritos.
I did all my planned workouts this week so tonight I'm just going home and relaxing instead of going back and forth all day about whether I'm going to work out tonight only to go home and catch up on the DVR and enjoy an adult beverage instead of exercising while feeling vaguely guilty like I do every other Friday.

I'm not sure if the feta in my salad is a little off, or if that's just the way it's supposed to taste. I know it has a really strong, tangy flavor, but it seems especially strong today. I'm hoping it's the latter, because I'm hungry and I'm going to eat this salad.
I am exhausted. I went to boot camp last night, went this morning, will go again tomorrow morning and then I have a scheduled run on Sunday. I also want a donut from a local donut shop. Just one. I can taste the apple fritter now......
I am not a food snob at all, but can no longer stomach eating at most chain restaurants (fast food excepted, and that is because I have zero expectations for what a fast food meal entails and its usually a necessity to grab a ff meal here or there when we are on the road). I grabbed drinks and dinner at Applebee's last night and although the app was fine, my chicken and shrimp was just blah. I always feel like I should be Chef Ramsey on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares where I get disgusted by the food.

Applebees has to be the worst chain restaurant hands down. We've had a gift card to Applebees since last Christmas I think and we just can't bring ourselves to go and even order drinks. We're afraid we'll get sucked into ordering food and then we'll be pissed that we wasted a meal on crap.
I have to pay bills today and I don't want to because I have seriously run up my credit card the last few weeks buying random, mostly pointless shit. Dummy.
Now that I know DD is fine with the tooth breaking, I'm PISSED about paying to fix it. The dream of the new car is starting to dissolve.
I'm so glad I only have a 2 mile shake out tomorrow, so that I can get my DRINK ON tonight.
Non-H&FR: I have two interviews scheduled next week and don't own a single pair of heels to wear. Ugh. I don't want to spend a bunch on shoes I will never wear, but I don't think I have anything appropriate. I think I am going to head to TJMaxx or Nordstrom Rack and hope I can find something decent on the cheap!
I have been sick for 1 week now and havent been able to work out...my body is just exhausted so I wont push it, but it sucks! Plus the only things my body will tolerate (food wise) are bad for me (milkshakes, dairy, donuts, etc). Not what I need right now when I am trying to lose weight!

I've had shin splints for a week now and they are just not getting better. :-( even with icing, compression socks and no running. For a whole week. I am going bonkers. It's all Jillian Michaels fault with her damn 30ds. :-(

Just go after 9pm and its happy hour, drink specials and 50% off apps, so you don't spend extra money. The spinach artichoke dip and chips were decent, for a chain. I boycotted going there for years and I sort of forgot why, but now I am reminded.
My 3 yr old pooped all over himself and was screaming bloody murder at the botanical garden today in front of a large group of kids on a field trip. It was awesome.
I've been trying to relearn all the Chinese I learned in college, but am having difficulty staying focused. Why do these characters have to be so dang hard?! On the plus side, I'm now at the very top of the hiring register for my potential job, so I should hopefully get an offer soon.

I'm coming back to this board (again. For like, the 5th time). I used to post on the other place that we don't speak of quite often. I am finally healthy after 6 months of back to back illness/injury. I tried on shorts from last summer and they are a wee bit tight. I *really* need to get back on the H&F wagon. So, here I am!
i have no idea, i've just always done it that way. I don't have any problems with anything freezing here. I always just snatch the ebrake up and call it good..
Some people - mainly gearheads and people my parents and grandparents age will often say that parking it in neutral is better for "just incase purposes". For instance, if for some reason the transmission fails and you cant move the gear shift it's better for it to be in neutral than in a gear for towing purposes.
There's also the people that say that leaving it in gear is hard on the transmission, but that's really not true. The transmission is doing nothing when the car isn't on or moving.
But realistically the chances that something is going to happen to a car where it would be impossible to get it into neutral to tow it is pretty slim.
That said, I do leave my dirt bike and my ATV in neutral because the gears in those have a much higher chance of sticking or breaking, and it is much easier to roll them when they're in neutral.
I never leave my car in neutral. I'm too afraid of the parking brake failing.
If I park on a hill, which is never, I put it in gear.. It's really something i've never even thought about.
My Husband just told me I need to leave it in first gear. lol.. Oh.... I've been driving a manual for 12 years =/

Being injured sucks. Unfortunately, my shin splints took 4 weeks to feel better and ~6 weeks to go away completely. I hope yours heal up faster!
My confession is that I just ploughed through not only the microwave pizza I had brought for lunch but also a bunch of finger food items from a leftover tray in the main office. I really didn't need those.

Don't believe him!!! If you have a good e-brake and don't have to worry about it freezing use your parking break! Here in the mitten (auto-rama) only men park in first, women park with the e-brake. (Obvs that's speaking in major generalities but in my experience its totally true!)
I wanted to stab a customer in the face through the phone today. He has called every hour all day. I stopped taking his calls at 10am. He can keep trying, I give no fucks.
Another customer came in with 8 colleagues for what appeared to be bring your kid to work day. They just wanted tours. Like I have time for that shit?! Anyway one of the women is a young redhead and all day my co-irkers have been gushing about my "twin". That's like, racist or something. Not all gingers look alike!
Our secretary lives on a busy road with no fence around her yard. Her unleashed dog was killed by a car this week, and she's disowning her parents because they told her it was HER fault for not tying up the dog, not the driver's fault. I really have no idea how I've made it all week without TPing her and yelling at her that they're right. I'm livid!! She killed her dog!! (But it's not my business and I don't want ANYthing to do with her personal life, so I bite my tongue so hard it's currently flopping on the desk in front of me)

That makes me sad, poor doggie
Me too. He was so sweet and just a puppy! She's an idiot. It makes me all sorts of ragey. :*(

Aurora- did you not run at all during that time? Did you try to cross train and what did you do? I'm going crazy right now doing nothing.
I came home from work, changed my clothes and immediately grabbed a beer! Just an emotional week. The weather is gorgeous, houseguest left, I can watch what I want on tv and enjoy this beer. I am running 10 miles tomorrow so I cannot enjoy too many.

Target!! Good luck!
I second Target! I got a pair of nice basic black pumps there. There is also a printable coupon for $5 off women's shoes on the Target website right now.
