Has she been able to meet with anyone about yesterday's mess?
@bettyhomewrecker33
Sorry for the delayed response! I've been busy with her all day.
There's a meeting scheduled for Monday with the dean of education and for her major.
Basically, I got to read the committee evaluation of her, and it doesn't look good. While her teacher mentors say that she would be capable to teach, it seems the committee views it differently.
The head of the committee will be at the meeting on Monday to disclose what made her come to her conclusion seeing as there is nothing concrete written.
So, I'm not sure how this will go. Fingers crossed.
Thank you for asking. Hopefully I can give more details soon.
Does she have an office at the university that works with her due to her asperger's? Can someone from that office sit in on the meeting?
There's not really a syllabus for the course.
She'll meet with a person from the disabilities department before the big meeting, I believe it's up to her if she wants them to be included in the initial meeting. My dad will be with her, too.
Who makes up this committee? If her mentors think she's capable, and she's got the grades to back it up...? I just don't understand. We're all pulling for her. Fingers crossed for good news on Monday.

So happy to hear this! She deserves all the support possible. I hope she decides to include her contact from the disabilities department.

I don't really know how one becomes a part of the committee.
Basically, the issue is the student teaching program supervisor doesn't believe she is fit and apparently was able to sway the professional committee to this opinion. There's nothing in writing for what that decision was based on, so that's what we'll have to find out Monday.
The supervisor is the one with the issue. Everyone else seems to have no interest in holding her back and were very helpful today.
I'm just so emotionally drained from dealing with this today. But, after reviewing all the paperwork, it does seem like it's something to be fixed, so I'm more hopeful than I was yesterday.
