well, lets think this through. she just lost her comfort piece, and she is in pain from her teeth. gosh, do you think if you were in her shoes you might want your mommy and something to take the edge off? because i sure as fuck would.

Is there another item that might comfort her? A special stuffed animal or something? I'm not the CIO our taking away pacifiers type do Im not really sure what to say. If she's teething she might really just need extra cuddles.

right, but she is in pain. what have you done to ease it? those other items are not as soothing to a kid's sore gums like sucking. i get why you took maway the pacifier, but you have labled this separation anxiety when there is a good chance it is something else. when something hurts on your body, you take something, right? so why wouldnt you do the same for her?
if it is sa, then what is the point of fighting it when she doesnt feel good?

She has a blankie, glow worm and an elmo. I mentioned it in my OP, but the problem is when she's laid down, she starts screaming. Like she's suddenly afraid of her bed. We go through the routine just like any other night and she freaks when either of us go to lay her down. Not knowing what was causing this the first night, I sat and rocked with her until she was calm, went to lay her down, she freaked. I calmed her down again, went to lay her down, she freaked. The babysitter says she's been doing this at her house all week, too, so I know it isn't just me.
We're going through the same thing. He's totally fine and sleepy and when I lay him down, he freaks. Combo of teething and sep anxiety and it will go away. We let him have his pacis though.
Hmmm. ear infection is a good idea to check out. She'd feel it more after fluids settle while laying, so maybe she's starting to associate it.
Otherwise, I'd try a little orajel or some motrin. Or both. I usually start w/ some orajel. I know it doesn't last as long, relief-wise, but I think sometimes gets them over the hump of pain to fall asleep. She could be nicely distracted when she's with you, but then not after. 3 about to poke through has to help.
On another note, C goes in waves of when she'll cry when I leave her in bed, and then other times she's fine. Hard to predict, though the crying became more rare. (she did it more w/ me than dh. W/ him, she'd just wave and say night night. Grrr. She just likes to break my heart)
