I have 4 very large windows in the living room. 2 are huge sliding glass doors that we will use. I am thinking that GROMMET Top panels will be easy to slide back and forth as we go in/out of the back patio doors... I have never had grommets before....
1) Will Grommet sheers be easier to slide back than rod pocket sheer panels?
2) If the grommet sheer fits up to a 1.25" rod in diameter -- will a rod that is 1 and 1/8" in diameter be ok or do I need more space (skinnier rod) for the grommets to slide easier?
3) If my window is 115" wide x 90 inches tall -- will 4 panels of 50" wide x 95" tall be enough? -- The curtains will be closed a lot for privacy, it's only when we want to go outside will we slide them back to open the door. Therefor I want to make sure I have a rather full look when the curtains are pulled across....vs stretched out.
Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. I stink at this and my MIL usually helps but she is out of town and I need to place an order by Monday.
Yes, grommets slide much easier than regular curtain panels. I get them specifically for that reason.
As long as the grommet is bigger than the rod you shouldn't have any issues. I just looked and one of my rods is just barely smaller than my grommets and it works great. I think 4 panels should be fine. That will give you plenty of curtain. They shouldn't look stretched out at all. GL!
