Is it rude to not invite a friend into your house?

I'm going to a girls-only poker party tonight. One of my buddies is driving over to my house, and then we're going to drive in my truck to the game.

My house is in disarray because of my delcluttering project, and well....I'm embarrassed to have her come in. Would it be okay if I met her at the door when she gets here and then we can drive away?

I rarely invite people in. I usually meet people behind my apartment building.

Why would she expect to come inside?

My grandmother never learned to drive ... so, when a friend drove her anywhere, she was dressed and waiting in the driveway for her ride.

It was appreciated. No one every wondered why they weren't coming inside.

Definitely not rude. I actually get annoyed if the petson I am going out with is not ready and invites me in.

I've done this many times before. No problem. Gets you to your destination quicker than having to do that turn around time in the house. Unless, of course, she needs to use your bathroom.
