It rained all freaking weekend here and we lost power Sunday morning. Ugh. We did go to the pool and I drew up the rental house and figured out where all our furniture would fit.
Busy. We went light shopping and picked up two lights and two ceiling fans:
We organized and purged a lot of stuff, and did more shopping for random things like monkey hooks and and bench from World Market. I also picked up a cute camel scarf. Now it's cold and rainy.
We went to the Container Store, IKEA, and to the Le Crueset outlet. The outlet mall was a bigger zoo IKEA, but we managed to find our way around and spend some money. ; p
We ran some errands closer to home, and now I know where both Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore stores are located. Sad that this is what I find fun. lol
Sunday we installed a new toilet in the master bath (yea for a toilet that doesn't use a zillion gallons per flush, and actually works), hung the mount for the gigantic flat screen, and DH got my car washed and replaced a headlight in his car.
DH had his first snake sighting when he went to turn the water off to the house. He has a fear of snaked, so he was kind of freaked out. He also wants to get the entire yard done in a not so inviting to snakes way, sooner rather than later. And to hire someone to do whatever yard work is in the area where snakes are...pretty much everything outside of the courtyard. lol
It was 45 and raining all weekend. Here! Where it was 70 in February! It actually frosted a couple nights ago. It's normally 80 here by now.
As for my activities, I lived in the library. That is all.
I graduate on Saturday and they're calling for rain - noooo! Graduation is normally held on the quad and it's so pretty! Our rain location is the indoor football field with AstroTurf and fluorescent lights - blech.
The weather in NJ was wonderful this past weekend. We have a terrible, rock/boulder filled backyard so MH and I started moving rocks to build a retaining wall to hopefully backfill the upper yard one day. It's amazing how much progress we made in such a short time. It's really motivating.
Other than that, I did some planting, cleaning and we had some friends over for dinner Saturday night.
weather was beautiful and I thought we were taking the weekend off from house stuff. But DH decided we needed to spring clean the kitchen/livingroom/diningroom. Good times. :-|
Saturday I put the trellis decals on Kate's mirrored closet doors and finished fastening the legs onto my coffee table. And then I scrubbed kitchen cabinets and cleaned baseboards.
Sunday I deep cleaned the oven and cooktop, finished scrubbing cabinets, organized a couple of cupboards and cleaned baseboards etc while DH deep cleaned the fridge, scrubbed floors, and deep cleaned bathrooms. At least we were drinking mimosas as we went.
We took the kids to play minigolf on Sunday too, so that was a nice break from cleaning.

Whoo boy. We had an awesome weekend.
Friday night we went to (where else!?) HD and then picked up some Beach Hut for dinner, then we relaxed. Saturday, I got up at 7am and went to the gym/pool - swam 2900 yd - then went to the dry cleaner and met R for breakfast. Then we came home and tackled some long-standing house projects. Sunday, we did yard work and more house projects.
Overall, I finished painting the upstairs vanity, the upstairs light box, the hinges for both vanities, two light fixtures for downstairs, and (finally) got R to help me make a decision on bathroom paint for upstairs. I also stripped all the paint (8 layers!) off the CL dresser I bought to be a linen "cabinet" for the upstairs bathroom. Soy-Gel is miraculous stuff.

It was cloudy and rainy most of the weekend here. DH had to work so he didn't come for the weekend which was okay because I worked too. Friday night I enjoyed some time with my parents. Work was okay nothing too scary which was nice. I also worked with a great group of people. I did some online looking for our new place. I refuse to move our current living room rug. Saturday I slept a lot must have been catching up. Yesterday I didn't do much.

We had a productive but exhausting weekend.
Sat morning we were out the door at 7 with two crabby kids in two to go garage saling. We scored a solid cherry Stickley dinging room table, a solid mahogany bed for the guest bed, a small bookcase that is destined to be bright green, and a bedside table. Woot!
But it was exhausting and the kids were seriously revolting. Pus we had to borrow a friends can to go pick up the big things.
Sat night I went to a fundraiser for a friend in her early 40's with stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to her brain. I had to fight crying the whole time, thinking of my uncle who died a year and a half ago, my mom who has cancer, my gpa who has cancer. Yay cancer!
Sunday we planted 1.5 peach trees, which was a MASSIVE undertaking. The soil in our yard is half rocks, so digging took forever, then we had to pick out all the rocks, including a giant chunk of limestone. I assume when they dug out our basement, they just dumped the rocks from the foundation all around the house. I still need too finish the second tree. I never want to plant a tree again.

asdfjkl, I was a hot mess of crazy when we got our MN house ready to sell, and I was another hot mess when we bought this house. And they were a year apart! So don't worry, it is normal.
When we moved here, we ate through an entire giant Costco bag of paper plates worth of pizza, takeout, etc. I didn't cook a thing for about a month.

We had a gorgeous weekend here so we were outside for most of it. Saturday morning I went for a long run, the kids had soccer and tennis, then we went to a friend's house in the afternoon for a bbq. Yesterday DS had a playdate at our house in the morning, DH did a bunch of yard work, then we went to the beach with several other families in the afternoon. It was warm enough that some of the kids we were with were swimming in Puget Sound!
i worked saturday, but h came to visit me so it wasn't so bad.
sunday we had a party with friends we haven't seen in a while and i was fantastic.
i have today off still and i'm being way lazy, but i kind of need the time to relax. i've been on full out GO mode for too long. i'll do some light housework and then spend the afternoon on my porch since it's going to be 88F this afternoon.

It was really nice. My dad and brother came up for DD's t-ball game and went out to lunch. My dad and I don't have the best relationship and we really got along which was nice. I got some good news about his cancer. We went out and bought some flowers and sand for DD's sandbox. The community garden opened this weekend too.
The only bad thing was that my allergies were awful Sunday and today. I can't find anything that helps and I'm so miserable. Hopefully the rain will make it better.
My dad mentioned selling his house in a couple of years and we can get first dibs if we want to buy it. I'm just not sure how I feel about moving back to my hometown.
