I am totally giggling at you going to the food truck festival, and then out for food, Rock. Hee!
Our weekend was ok. Friday night, we had too many margaritas, so I was "exhausted" on Saturday and didn't do much during the day except try to catch up on Hannibal. Jack got sick a couple of times, so we weren't sure if we should go to the Johnny Marr show. He seemed better, so we went. It was awesome. So much fun*. Then we got home, and saw that Jack had gotten sick again while we were gone. Sigh. We'd pre-bought tickets for Iron Man yesterday, but decided not to go so he wouldn't be home alone again. And then he was fine. (Thankfully.) I ended up cleaning (wheee!!!!!!!) and running some errands, and then crashing before Mad Men. At least we have something to watch tonight now.
*Aside from the 6 foot tall douchebags who kept standing in front of me, and the idiots holding up their cell phones for the entire show. When are you going to watch that video, people? Never, that's when. The girl in front of me kept switching between color and black and white footage, and I seriously wanted to smack the phone out of her hand. I *may* have yelled, "hey! Martin Scorcese! Knock it off!" but she couldn't hear me.
We're in the middle of our Tahoe vacation. Thursday afternoon we flew out, and the trip was long but uneventful. Stayed in a cheap hotel near the airport in Reno, but it was surprisingly lovely inside.
Friday we drove up to Tahoe and began the controlled chaos that is vacation with 14 family members. DH promptly got sick and has spent the last 3 days in bed. We spent most of Friday just settling in and hanging out with the fam.
Saturday I started the daily tradition of walking with my dad, since we're apparently the early risers around here. DD spent most of the day with her cousins and aunts and uncles, who went on a hiking adventure. I knitted a sock
Yesterday was a blast. My siblings were gone for a chunk of the day, so it was quiet around the house. DD spent her morning in the hot tub, then took a nap while I went shopping downtown. I came home to essentially a Mexican restaurant in the kitchen, as my brother and SIL were making a Cinco de Mayo fiesta. I joined in and we ended up with homemade margaritas, fajitas (including tortillas made by yours truly) and guacamole. It was divine, even if most of it was vegan
Today it's raining, but the girls are all taking my mom out to lunch on the lake. She's still moving slowly but needs some outside time--it will be good for her.
Friday we stayed in and had thai food, nothing big.
Saturday I took a morning Pilates class, then a friend from HS came up and we went hiking with my dog. My H brought home fresh fish he caught while spear fishing Saturday and we made fish tacos and margaritas sat night.
Sunday my friend and I took a Pilates class then we met some friends down my the waterfront and had lunch outside. It was a little chilly but so nice to dine outside! Last night we grilled and made turkey burgers. It was a nice relaxing weekend but not long enough, as usual.
Friday and Saturday - didn't do much, just relaxed and ran some errands
Sunday - Went to Zumba in the morning then made food for the Cinco de Mayo party we went to that afternoon. DH felt old as he was the only one there in a collared shirt :/
Rock--I saw pics of it on a friends FB and I'm so jealous you got to go! Glad you had fun!
I was at the Kentucky Derby. Drove down with friends, got soaked but had a blast at the Derby. On the way back to the hotel in the cab, we got into a car accident so that sucked. Yesterday we came back early. We're ok but I have awful whiplash and am taking muscle relaxers and pain meds. Womp womp
We watched the derby at Durty Nelly's, then headed down to Ft.Point Channel to a mexican restaurant near the Seaport Hotel. It was really yummy! We had a private room with a family style dinner. Then on the Black Rose for irish music where I was a little cranky that we had to pay a $5 cover. Then I spent the night at the Westin and then went to the bridal shower on Sunday.
We drove past the food truck fest after watching the derby and it looked MOBBED.

Durty Nellys is one of my DH's favorite bars, he even has a hoody! He used to live in the North End and loved going there and to Blackstones.
Saturday H and I went to Homegoods for some storage stuff, then caught up on some laundry still leftover from vacation. We went to get groceries because H was intent on copying the Bubba Gump's fried chicken he got while we were in FL. It wasn't bad for a copycat recipe. We got Parental Guidance and Guilt Trip from Redbox. Parental Guidance was funny' the other movie was just eh, I wouldn't recommend it.
Sunday I got my hair done and H and I went out for a late lunch after. I got some work done for this super important, determines whether my position receives funding, giving me anxiety attacks meeting/visit that I have this week. I will be very happy when it is over.
Friday I went out for an early Cinco de Mayo with my parents. Mexican food and margaritas at a super tacky local place. The booze were good, but I felt the food was expensive for what we got and they charged us extra for chips and salsa. No bueno.
Saturday my BFF came to visit. We went to the Currier Museum, free on Saturday mornings. For lunch we hit up The Farm. Did you know pulled pork nachos are a thing? Because they are. And they might be my new favorite food. Saturday night I was invited out to a country-western bar by my new male coworker friend who knew the band playing. But I felt sketchy about the situation and didn't want to go alone so I passed. :-#
Sunday I did almost nothing. Some laundry, less than an hour of yard work. It was fabulous.
fuddyduddy I'm sorry your lunch date wasn't everything you had hoped for! Please tell me where ever you had lunch made it worth it.
hulley SO wanted to see Guilt Trip when it was in theaters but we never found time to go. I feel less bad about it knowing the movie sucks, LOL.
mcc That's so scary! The Derby is on my bucket list (fashionable hats and fancy drinks? Sounds like a plan.) but your story only reinforces my avoidance of cabs. Hope you're feeling better today!

Speaking of delicious, unusual nachos, have you had the asian shortrib nachos at Mint Bistro? Sooooo good. Link, if anyone is curious: www.mintbistronh.com/food/dinner-menu/
Thank you. The food was good as was the company, but I just did not find him attractive in person, unfortunately. I felt so terrible about it since it seems so shallow, but one cannot force that sort of thing. It was awful letting him down, particularly because he has many wonderful qualities and handled it extremely well.
I'm still holding out hope that someone here will magically find the perfect nice Jewish guy for me. Haha.

My weekend flew by as always. Why don't they make weekends 5 days and work weeks 2 days???
Friday night DH and I went over to my dad's house for our first family bbq for the season. My sister and her bf also came over which was nice. We just hung around there with the puppy for the evening.
Saturday morning we got up early and did some grocery shopping and errands. Saturday afternoon I babysat 2 of my boss's triplet 8 year olds while he took his daughter to a wedding, so I had 2 boys . I got to hang out little league for a bit to watch the 2nd half of one of their games, then we watched some guy launch rockets behind the fields, then we went home to hang out for a bit and eat pizza. We ended the night by playing wiffle ball until my boss's wife came home from work, it was probably some of the best fun I had in a long time.
Sunday we just hung around the house and did yardwork. We also started pumping the water off the pool cover so we can open it in a few weeks. I got a lot of sun yesterday to.
Fuddyduddy - that restaurant looks amazing, I'm going to have to try it one of these weekends.
I'm enjoying visiting my parents in FL! The weather is cooperating, it only rained the first 2 days and has been gorgeous since. We had an awesome day yesterday, went to the beach for a picnic and even went swimming! It was really fun. Then a delicious dinner. My mom is the most amazing cook I know and I miss her homemade Indian food the most when they moved away. Luckily she makes all my favorites when I come to visit. Then H and I went to see Iron Man 3 last night. I really enjoyed it! It was my first 3D movie and the movie theater was completely empty just us! That was pretty fun.
All in all, we're having a great trip! H flew back today, I come back Wed. My mom also took us to a model house for a new neighborhood and it was so beautiful, I keep fantasizing about moving here. Why is it so much cheaper to live here? Oh well, you guys can remind me why we live in expensive New England when I get back.

We went to a bday party on saturday. Only to realize it was the wrong party and the one we wanted was on sunday. We did make it to the sunday one. The sad thing is this isn't the first time we've done this.
