H wants to keep these two scraggly-ass burning bushes. While I like burning bushes (even if they're a bit ubiquitous), I think these particular ones are runty and ugly (they look like they were pruned into a tree shape) and they're in a really bad place. H loves them. You can see them to the left of our raised beds here:
I want to keep this gorgeous, mature (well over 6'), healthy dogwood that is just unfortunately in the wrong place for our new landscaping beds. I want to transplant it over to the expanded bed/screening/seating area we're planning on the east fenceline. H doesn't like it. You can see it in the far left of the picture here (in front of the now-dead and removed smoke bush):
I have currently proposed a trade to my H (after I tried to guilt him about killing the apple tree and why would he want to dig up an otherwise healthy shrub.... to no avail). He can keep his ugly burning sticks and transplant them to where he wants them (next to the norway spruce in the back corner) if I get to keep the dogwood.

I just can't follow what you're talking about... like first, I don't see anything to the left of the raised beds. Is that figure 8 shaped bed the same bed in both photos, just a different angle? The dogwood might not be that tough to move, depending on how/when it was planted. Six feet is nowhere near mature size for most dogwoods.
EEEK. RIGHT. Right of the beds in that photo. Ooops. There's one squat little red thing that used to be a barberry (we removed that a couple years ago) and two green poofs on sticks. The green poofs are the burning bush. I'll see if I can't blow that photo up....
I'm 6' and the dogwood is well over my head. Not sure really how tall (I suck at estimating height). This photo is a couple years old.
