I just got the Beco Soleil and I'm a big fan! You need an insert for a nb, though.
We also have a Beco Gemini and you don't need an infant insert for that one. Plus they can face forward. H really likes it.
We also have an Ergo, which also needs an insert. I replaced it with the Soleil bc J was trying to do backflips out of it and the Soleil has a higher shell.
I know people love their Bobas also. I think wildcatprincess has one
ETA: the gemini only goes to 30 lbs. The Soleil and Ergo go to 45.

The Ergo does not need an insert for nb. You can use one, but I only ever used a rolled up blanket under their butt to raise their head up a bit.

I do have a Boba 3G and love it! My husband took it accidentally one day and I had to use the Ergo I bought with R and it was just not the same. It's a bigger shell than the Ergo, too, and comes with stirrups to make it more comfortable for them as they get bigger.
I have a babyhawk mei tai and I just need buckles!!! I don't have time or want to mess with tying, so definitely a ssc. Someone pick one for me!!
Wants (that I know of- I'm sure there are others I'm not thinking of):
nb-30+ lbs?? definitely nb, no idea how high I'd want it to go- Linus is 35 lbs but I have no idea if he'd want to be carried since he's so huge.
hood
buckles
back carry for sure
I don't know what else- what do I need to think about?
I think it really depends on your body type and what's most comfy for you. Is there a store or babywearing group where you can go try stuff on?
I just got the Tula toddler carrier and I absolutely LOVE IT. The regular Tulas are supposed to be awesome too and be able to carry up to 20kg. I loved that they were a local company and the patterns are cuter than the ergo. I love my ergo but this is way more comfortable for me now that Max is bigger (esp on my back) - I am on the bigger side (I've seen tiny women wearing them too so it just looks like it's more adjustable - whereas for the ergo, bigger peeps would have to get a waist expansion thing which I imagine can be just embarrassing...)
Anyway I think you should try some on. You really never know what you will like!
