I've been getting them for a couple of years now. The way it works is they glue individual artificial lashes to your individual natural lashes. The first time I had it done it took a while, maybe an hour or more. The fills take less time and they basically "fill" whatever has fallen out and freshen them up. I get a fill every 4 weeks. Your real lashes fall out periodically on their own, taking the false lash with them. If you got them just once I doubt you would lose a lot of your own lashes but I think over time they probably get more sparse. I have no idea what my lashes look like without extensions but I bet it isn't pretty
I just had the clusters done last week via a Groupon for $29 and they've been on over a week now and still look nice. You can do the clusters (which are shorter term and less expensive - and took ~ 10 mins for her to apply) or the individual lashes which are more expensive but last longer (I was told last week, should last 1-2 months since they use surgical glue which is stronger and does not dissolve in water (shower)).
starburst can you tell me how much you pay for them ~ 4 weeks in the city? I am finding ~$100 per application here but I'm wondering if it's less expensive after the first applic.
I must say that I love the look and they really made me more photogenic in pics over the weekend...yet, no one noticed them.
starryfish - I saw lashes at Macy's that you can do yourself (or have someone else help with) with a glue tube so they are reusable for different occasions. This is something that I am considering next time as long as I don't glue my eyes shut!
Unfortunately I pay a bit more than $100 for my fills. I know I could pay less in the burbs but I've been going to the same person so long and trust her work. I could go longer than 4 weeks but mine start to look sparse around then, though still plenty of lashes.
I get the minx ones. Just started a couple months ago and am addicted. Mine are $75 a month. I swear I was just saying people are nicer to me when I have lashes. I know I sound insane but I think they are a game changer.

Falsies take a little bit to get the hang of, but they're not too bad. If you decide to go that route, I'd get a couple pairs and practice once or twice beforehand. I put eyeliner and mascara on first. Use a toothpick to apply a THIN line of glue along the lash strip. Some sets come with glue, or you can buy it separately. Let it dry for maybe 15 seconds. Put them on. It's easier for me to put them on if I start from the inside and work my way out, but I can get them to line up better if I do outside in. Press them firmly to your skin, as close to your natural lashes as you can get. Go over your eyeliner again to help hide the line of the lashes. After a few minutes, apply another coat of mascara to blend the lashes into your own a bit.

There's something to this! I don't know if people were nicer, but men sure were!! I get far more compliments on my face since I got lashes. I think they make me look younger too

I know someone who gets them done at the beauty school around here. They look really great and you would never know they were not her own lashes. She needs no mascara. She says after the initial getting them on you just go about once a month to get a fill. The beauty school makes it more reasonable to get them done if your budget is limited.
I don't in the first couple of weeks, but I start using it as they thin out over the month. I probably don't need it, but I've become lashorexic I think.

This is what I do too and I always apply to the bottom lashes. I have blond lashes though so otherwise they would be non existent
