To put furniture back in a room and to have a kid sleep in the room.
I don't want to put furniture in right away because I am worried I will bang something up. I don't want DS to sleep in it until the smell is totally gone. Do you think 2 more nights out of the room is reasonable? I know it takes 2-4 weeks for the paint to completely cure, but I am not dealing with DS sleeping with dd for that long. However, I also don't want him banging around when I am not in there, and ruining the paint.

I would move furniture back in when the walls were dry to the touch. But I would keep them a few inches from the walls for a couple days. As far as keeping your kids out, I would let the room air out and let mine sleep back in there the next night. Your son is old enough he should know not to bang or throw anything at the walls, but just remind him before tucking him in.

Are we talking about paint on the walls? I'd put him back in tomorrow. Once wall paint's dry to the touch, it's pretty tough to damage without running sharp things against it. At least in my experience.
