Well, the first day of the flooring installation. I think it will be today, tomorrow, and Monday.
They are being finished on site, so hopefully it will all work out and it will be ready to walk on by Tuesday. The movers are bringing our stuff on Thursday, so our contractor wants to lay down something to protect the surface, then put plywood over it so that the movers don't do anything bad to the floors (they scratched our hardwood at the old house).
No. That lasted less than a week, and we have been living in a construction zone since.
The flooring guy is whining about the finish coat now and wants us to move out...or do the finish coat ourselves. I think we may do the sanding between the second and third coat, but we can't move out. Even the hotel we stayed at doesn't allow four dogs...they had to get permission because someone had given us wrong information, but it was against policy.
I think we are going to have to postpone the movers too. *sigh*
On a happy note, I do love the floor. It is exactly as I envisioned, even if I can't get a decent photo color wise.
It's cork! Duro Design cork floor, Edipo, in leather brown. The installers and other contractors keep commenting on how much they like the pattern, and that none of them have ever seen it before.

Why does this quote from me keep appearing in random posts? So weird.

I hope everything goes smoothly for you! We've been living in our house while undergoing renovations and it's been a month since everything started getting ripped apart. I can't wait to have a "new" house!!! I'm so sick of dust and boxes everywhere

Pretty much nothing has gone smoothly so far, but we have a new roof that is well insulated and has no hidden damage, and we seem to be okay now. I don't want to jinx it by being over confident at this point.
We are going to redo the kitchen after our old house closes, so I am not fooling myself that having the flooring in will mean no more mess. Actually, getting all of our belongings is going to mean a lot more mess...just different. lol

We're in the same boat as you. When they went to pull up the pergo, there was tile under that. Once they rented the equipment to remove that (at $2 sq. foot...), they found hardwoods under some sections of our floor... it was a mess!
We removed the heinous wainscoting in 2 living spaces (who puts in 5 ft. tall wainscoting?) and found wallpaper behind it. Joy. They also glued the wainscoting everywhere instead of just using nails, so all of those walls need to be retextured.
This week something was dropped through the ceiling in the kitchen. At least this is an easy fix!
Our attic space is too cramped, so for our bathroom remodel they had to remove the ceiling in order to run all of the electrical and piping.
It has been a long couple of months! We figured if we were making a mess we might as well make a mess everywhere, I suppose!
