and I've spent all day assuring various relatives that my house is not on fire, and that we're not in danger. It'd take a lot for it to get to my house. I tried showing my MIL a map, and she freaked out how "close it was." sigh...
Yup. It's the one that exploded yesterday. 2 of my coworkers were evacuated, and they don't know about the status of their houses.
What's weird is that I was talking to my one coworker on Thursday about "bad feelings" and how we'd been preparing for them. Hers was that there would be a wildfire at her house. Low and behold it happened. (Mine is that there is going to be a bad accident at work. I've updated our emergency contact list for our dept. and some safety procedures.)
Weird feelings are....weird. I have done that before with earthquakes.
I HATE freaking wildfires. Ever since we had to be evacuated from one a few years ago they have made me super jumpy. I hope it stays far away from you and that your coworkers homes are OK.

omg, good luck.
wildfires are my "irrational fear". although, out of all the natural/disasters that can happen, wildfire is probably my most likely issue. that or indian point meltdown. if that happens, we're on the boarderline of totally fucked and immediately dead.

Tornadoes are somewhat frequent here so that's my fear. But a nuclear meltdown is definitely a possibility. We've got 2 plants within a 2-hr drive.
