Arrived late last Thursday, found a La Quinta that looked crappy from the outside, lovely on the inside.
Friday AM had breakfast at a run-down Dennys (did I mention Reno is a crap town?) and headed up into the mountains. The whole family was assembled, and we spent the day just settling in. At which point DH announced he was sick, and slept for the next 3 days.
DD had a blast with her cousins. Almost my entire extended family is vegan and against TV, so they did nothing but cook and take her on hikes. Fine with me. I drank a lot, knitted, and was the early riser in the family who had morning walks with my dad every day.
Our house is a place my parents buy in a Rotary Club auction. 4 BR, 4.5 BA, space for our entire family, including a huge great room, rec room/billiards room, downstairs TV room, and hot tub, on a golf course. Did I mention it was all updated last year? I could live in the kitchen.
My mom is slowly recovering, so we spent one afternoon taking her out to lunch, just my SILs and I. It was very nice, and relaxing, and there was beer
The day before we left I felt like I had a rock in my stomach and ate nothing. DD did the same, until DH force-fed her, at which point she puked right before bed. She managed to make it through our gazillion-hour return flights like a trooper, but threw up again when we got home. She's been afraid to eat today but just asked for pancakes. Good sign.
Apparently we missed a tornado that blew threw not 3 miles from our house yesterday, and my azaleas are blooming. The sunflower seed DD planted before we left has now sprouted.
Great pics! Next time you go have breakfast at the El Dorado. Weekday buffet prices are like $7.99. We spent a bit too much time in Reno on our drives between CA and ID.
