What are your eating tips for evening races?
I don't have any stomach problems with morning races because I either run on an empty stomach, or eat light (1 egg, 1 cup coffee.)
Every evening race I've done (5k, 1 or 2 per year) I don't get it right. Last year I had half a powerbar 2 hours before race and I was all cramping and wanted to puke while running. Just don't eat anything at all after lunch at 1? I usually have a greek yogurt with flax seeds in it. Maybe add some chicken to lunch and that's it (besides hydrating?)
I have the Chase Challenge coming up (3.5 miles) and it starts at 7pm. I have a 5k in July.

I do a lot of my runs after work. I'll have a normal breakfast (yogurt, fruit, usually a banana, and coffee), a light, but filling lunch like a salad with chicken or tuna, and lots of water up to about an hour before I run. I might have some peanut butter and crackers if I'm running after 6pm (get home around 4pm), with more water, but only if I'm feeling hungry. Real eating comes after I run.
The 10K I did last week was at 7 pm and I do most of my runs at this time. However for the race I ate a large breakfast at 9 am, a salad and chicken roll at 2 pm and then nothing till after the race. I should have had a snack at 5pm.
