My mom is pretty obsessed with LLL, but doesn't like the spend the money on the gear herself. I live OOT, so I got her a LLL gift card for Mother's Day. Since I am a failure, the actual card wouldn't make it in time if I had it mailed, so I ordered a digital gc that would be emailed to her. It had a section to put who its from, the amount, and a gift message. She isn't hugely tech savvy but she has a iphone, knows how to work email/facebook/etc, so I thought it would be fine.
She texted me this morning to call her right away. I figured she was excited and wanted to thank me for the gc. I called, and she immediately went on a rant about how ridiculous people can be, how do "they" get her info, they are trying to hack her computer, blah blah blah. I had no idea what she was talking about. She goes on to explain that she opened her email this morning and there was a message from LLL that I sent her a gc with a message "go buy yourself something pretty!" She thought somehow it was spam and that someone got her account information and was going to hack into her computer if she opened the fake gc. She was calling to warn me so that I wouldn't open anything in my email. *facepalm*. Happy Mother's Day!
