I just wanted to post a quick update. My DH and I went down to see his best friend friday night/saturday and we learned a lot more about what is going on. He had an exploratory type surgery and the injected a steroid that has reduced the swelling and it reduced the pain/weird symptoms he was having. It has been putting pressure on a part of the spine where he was experiencing issues with swallowing, numbness in his legs, and extreme pain. He is more comfortable which is good. They need to shrink it before they can think about trying to remove it so he is starting a localized radiation on the tumor. Unfortunately this will temporarily hault chemo so they are keeping an eye on the lung cancer and hoping it doesn't spread in the meantime.
So there is a plan of attack, he is in less pain, and can go home soon and do radiation outpatient. Things are still not even close to good but we can breathe a little for now. We are just hoping the radiation works and things start improving. Thanks for all your good thoughts last week, I really appreciated them!
