Your favorite thing in your house(Furniture or decor item) that cost:
-Nothing
-$20 or less
-$100
-$ More than you are willing to admit
For me,
-Nothing - I have two old wooden crates, one has a shotgun shell label and one was an old whiskey crate. Both were found in my grandpa's workshop after he passed away and I always think of him when I look at them. I also have a ton of cool stuff my MIL has passed down to me from her family - an old seltzer bottle, a japanese glass float, etc. but I didn't know the people they came from so the crates are more special to me.
-$20 or less - hmm. I can't think of anything specific actually. Most things in my house cost $20 or less, haha, too many to choose from.
$100 - My kitchen table. It was $75 at a garage sale, and I probably spent another $30-$40 on stain and poly to refinish it but it turned out beautifully! My favorite furniture piece right now.
$ More than I am willing to admit.....we don't have any big ticket items, really. I do have a mirror that I feel like I way overpaid for. I bought this huge frame for a couple bucks at a garage sale and had mirror cut to fit at a glass place. It was almost $70 when I went to pick it up and they wanted to charge me another $15 just to caulk it in place. I was pissed, and DH caulked and braced it into place at home for free. I feel like they totally ripped me off.

Nothing - Furniture, my favorite piece is my kitchen table/chair set. It was a hand-me-down from my grandfather. I get the most comments on it of anything else in our house, too. Decor-wise, my favorite piece is a 1-foot-long ceramic elephant that was my grandmother's.
$20 or less - I have a vase that we bought in Mexico from a street vendor back when we lived in Texas (we walked across the border to shop occasionally). This particular vendor spray-painted scenes onto vases using nothing more than paper towels. It was an impressive skill, and the vase was $15.
$100 - I have a ceramic bowl that I bought at the Farmer's Market when we lived in Ohio from John Graham Pottery. LOVE it.
$ More than I am willing to admit - Honestly, I don't know that there's much in our house that cost us more than $100. We're pretty cheap and we've both inherited a lot of furniture. Maybe the sectional, but even that was on SERIOUS clearance. (As in, we have 5 pieces of a recliner sectional for <$800)

Nothing - Paintings from my mom. She did watercolors, and I have 7 of her paintings throughout my house.
$20 or less - the wreath on my front door. I really like it, and I've kept it up since Sept even though it has a definite autumn theme.
$100 - Hm, I can't think of much for $100. I tend to either splurge or go super cheap, so I'm not sure...
$$$$ - my Crate and Barrel sectional. It was more than 1/3 of our downstairs reno budget (for the living room, band room, hallway and powder room), but it's so big and comfy and worth it.
$0: dresser in Kate's room - hand me down furniture that I am in love with $20: Giant and beautiful rubbing of a carved stone wall I got at Angkor Wat in Cambodia (hanging in our master BR) $100: A pair of antique Chinese hair ornaments with kingfisher feathers I had framed *cough*: my new card catalog {{blush}}
$0: this antique sofa that is part of a dining room set (of all things) Solid wood and beautifully aged, tufted buffalo hide. It was hand made as a wedding gift for H's great, great, great uncle. Strange to have a sofa in the dining room, but it actually gets a ton of use.
$20 or less: the canvas of my kids that I made H for Father's Day a few years back. They're both wearing one of his shirts and it's adorable
$100: the purple chandelier inn DDs room.
More than I care to admit: it's a toss up between my tufted leather ottoman in my LR and my kitchen island. Both are huge. Both are BLUE (heart). Each is the statement piece in their respective rooms and I've never regretted my choices.
$0- I have lots but my favorite is probably the sideboard I got from my great grandmother. My grandma didn't have space for it and neither did my parents so my Dad brought it to us after we got married. They don't make furniture like that anymore. Otherwise, jewelery, cool dishes, 2 wingbacks and whatever else I got when my grandma died. I also have lots of my sister's photography. My fave is the pic of the roadsign she took on the road we grew up on.
$20.00 or less. I really like my candles and scent warmer lately. I also have some really good sheets I bought on Overstock that were just a bit more than $20.00.
$100.00. Ruby's crib. It's a black Jenny Lind looking thing and was like $110.00 on Overstock. That thing doesn't have so much has a scratch or a bite mark on it. 2 years later it's still pretty much perfect. We've only adjusted the screws once, but I also have an extreme crib shaker.
More than I care to admit: Our LR sofa. Reclining. Real Leather. Flexsteel. It may not be pretty..but man it's comfy!

Nothing - So much free family furniture. In particular, a beautiful distressed oak buffet from DH's grandmother.
$20 or less - Two "finial" eggs-shaped pieces on my fireplace come to mind. From Home Goods and there's one on each end - they make me smile.
$100 - Can't think of anything....all my new throw pillows?
Big ticket - we haven't really splurged on something impractical. Most buys are pretty budget-based. I suppose our king bed. Between the upholstered frame and pillow top mattress, the whole thing was about $3500. And after all that it's too high for my taste
Nothing - my dresser. Antique Drexel, 9 drawer. So pretty even in its not-refinished state.
$20 - toss between my mcm aqua chair and my vintage crates turned side tables. Chair was $5, crates were $5 and $3.
$100 - my couch. It's amazing.
More than I care to admit - nothing really. The only furniture I currently have that cost more than $100 is my mattress/box spring which was still a steal of a deal at $750, more than half off. I did have a pub table with four chairs that was $550 and it definitely wasn't worth that much. After we bought it I found several similar styles at Walmart or target that were under $250 and better quality. Live and learn, live and learn.
-Nothing Grandma's cedar chest. Grandpa gave it to Grandma for Christmas the Christmas after they got engaged. When I bought my first house, they gave it to me as my first piece of real furniture.
-$20 or less A carved wooden tray found at a yard sale.
-$100 My oak bookcase. Another yard sale find.
-$ More than you are willing to admit I splurged a few years ago on a big soft squishy leather arm chair and ottoman. It is butter soft and I will occasionally fall asleep while lounging in it.

Nothing: Stained glass my Grandpa made for me before he passed away. $20 A large green bubble hurricane vase. I got at Pier1 on mad clearance. I rarely find new things I love. $100 Two antique wingback chairs. $ More than I'm willing to admit. I spent a shameful amount of money on my tv. I regret nothing.
-Nothing: My trunk that my grandpa built me to use as a toy chest when I was younger. I refinished it last year to use as a coffee table in our living room.
-$20 or less: My owl salt and pepper shakers. I love them!
-$100: Well... it was $50, but I love my table under my mirror. I bought it at an antique market and it works so well in my living room. It's just the right size and color. It was the finishing touch in my living room.
-$ More than you are willing to admit: Hm... I don't have a whole lot that cost an outrageous amount of money. I guess my husbands obnoxiously large TV cost way more than I ever wanted to spend on a TV, but that's kind of his thing. He lets me have free reign all over the house, so I've grown used to the monstrosity of a TV.
Hard to say. I have a number of gifts and inherited items that I came by for nothing. Right now I'm enjoying a parade of brass candle sticks from my favorite aunt's house. She always had them on the mantles in her houses. I have the clock she gave me as a wedding present with them.
$20 or less?
I have a poster from the tourism office in a small town in France DH used to travel to on business. I went along a few times. The view includes the home of a friend and his deck on which we've enjoyed some good times.
$100?
My Swiss Army knife. I bought an advertising display piece that plus in and moves. It's about 3' tall and seriously red. People always comment on it.
too much?
Mr. Peanut. I have a very old wooden Mr. Peanut sign from the boardwalk in Cape May. It has some cornball advertising slogan "Nourish the Brain & the Frame"
