I picked up a random side nanny job that only lasted 10 months, today's my last day with the kid. I now feel like maybe I should get the family I worked for something as a thank you (they were really good to me) but i only worked two days a week and was able to get my other work done ( i dont know if this matters) guess I wasn't thinking about it before since I considered it not my real job and knew it was only going to last a few months. If you were me, would you get them something?
The basic concept is odd. They are the employer. I've been given gifts for leaving, I've never given a gift to my employer when I've left.
Maybe a nice card and as suggested, make them some cookies or something. But past that - eh, I don't know. It seems odd to give them a gift for employeeing you.
No I agree, you don't have to give them a gift.. If this was any other job I would never get my boss a gift when im leaving, but they have been so good to me and have gone above and beyond that it almost makes you wish you could nanny forever. I was thinking just a card too.. Just asking what you guys thought
