This weekend was great. N turned 8 months yesterday. We went to an open house and absolutely fell in love. It is perfect. The house is open and well suited for a big family. It has everything we want. The neighborhood is wonderful and the yard is downright amazing. After the open house, we went to a creamery and N met a cow for the first time (he loves the phrase 'a cow says mooooooo'). The cow moo'd for him and tried to lick his face. He was giggling like crazy. So cute. I love this age.
More high - N is full on crawling, belly off the ground! He's been army crawling for a month but he finally figured out how to coordinate his hands and knees. So cute and fast! I found him in the bathroom, sucking the ceramic tile floor (def. the low). The next day, I walked into his nursery and there he was, standing, looking over the siderail. So we dropped the crib and now he is pulling himself up on everything. crazy and scary how fast is happens!
Low - 2nd to sucking the bathroom floor.. N is sleeping in 30-45 min stretches and ohmygoodness.. I am f'ing tired. Teething, standing, crawling.. he's going through a lot. We're riding it out, hoping it passes soon but holy cow, nursing all night long for 5 days on end is tough. I think he just wants to be an only child I am never going to get my period back, at this rate!
High: On Friday Owl was in a good mood and was chasing A and Iz trying to scare them, laughing like crazy, it was wonderful.
Low: Watching J struggle to get Owl to eat dinner last night, I finally had to tell her to give Owl a bowl of infant oatmeal mixed with Pediasure. We have to resort to baby food when she won't eat now.
Highs: Thursday when we took the kids to Baltimore. It was a lot of fun and the weather was perfect. Walking in Pride was a lot of fun. I love random people cheering for us because we decided to have kids. LOL. Seeing the boys' godfather/guardian if something happened to us. He and his wife moved to France 2 years ago on assignment and so we only see him 1x/year. But it was like he never left. I was so relieved to see that, because we've been having concerns about the boys not having regular contact with him.
Lows: I was up most of Friday night feeling miserable. Didn't feel great at Pride either. Boo. Also, hate this heat/humidity. I despise sweating.
High: Sprout's super fun birthday parties. Lots of great people to celebrate with. Learning that many of his classmates' parents are very cool. My cake came out yummy and cute. Andrea helped a lot. Rosebud had super stellar so sweet and awesome behavior all weekend. Lots of kisses and cuddles from Daisy. Sprout being so genuinely appreciative of his life - its just not something you can teach a child.
Lows: Not really that much of a "low", but Andrea barely survived the weekend and had short patience on Sunday morning, but she rallied well and I like her again by mid-afternoon Sprout got moderately overstimulated and acted a little bratty at his party on Saturday (complaining bowling was too long and whining about not opening presents - so not cool). But, I shut that down real quick since there is nothing I despise more than a spoiled child and he completely turned around his behavior. By the time we actually got to opening the gifts he was full of appreciation and gave huge thank you hugs to everyone with no prompting. So that low turned into a high
