If you work full time and work out, do you work out before or after work?
I've been doing it after work, but my studio has a 6am class I am thinking of taking. It's 50 minutes long, and I have to be at work at 8. Work is 40 minutes away. Studio is right near my house near the highway.
I THINK this is doable, IF:
1. I don't shower 2. I bring my clothes/makeup with me and get ready AT work (studio does not have a place for this) 3. Must pack lunch the night before
I don't sweat that much. I mean, I do sweat but not heavily, and I'm okay with being gross a couple times a week in order to get my work out done in the morning.
The thing that sucks most is having to cart around my makeup and a change of clothes.
The best thing is being able to come home right after work. I'd be getting home around 5:05pm instead of 6:45pm.

Try it and see how it works. I sweat like there's no tomorrow so I have to shower after a workout. I work FT but I only work 3-4 days/week. I just work out on my days off or my 8 hour days since I don't get home until after 8 most days.
I go after work since neither are close to my house or work. I take classes 3 days a week at a studio (TRX, Bootcamp like class, medicine ball and zumba) I could manage not showering afte TRX and med ball but the other two, no way. I go to the gym other days and do the treadmill or elliptical and could probably get away with just a change of clothes and refresh.

I sweat way too much and couldn't do it. I usually go to the 5:30 Crossfit class after work but it's only 3 miles from my house so I can be home pretty quickly.
The idea of working out and not showering at all seems icky. It would have to be a very low key yoga class or something I would think to pull it off. Anything else I feel like you would almost be afraid to get into it and push yourself out of fear of sweating too much before work, and then really why work out if you aren't pushing yourself?

OK, so, on the weekends when I work out in the AM, I typically will run errands after and basically don't shower until early evening/late afternoon. I do pilates. I do push myself I just have never been a huge sweat-er! It's a pilates class but I definitely wouldn't call it low key. I just don't sweat that much! unless it's really really hot. And in the mornings it's very chilly here.

I workout either during my lunch hour or after work. I sweat ALOT so not showering isn't doable for me. If I work out during my lunch hour it's some light cardio or weight lifting and I really prefer after work so I can push myself and not have to worry about sweating too much.
When I had to commute I could NEVER do the AM workout. Too much getting-ready crap to schlep around, I felt too rushed, and I almost always forgot something I needed for work the next day. PM workouts were much better for me.
I've tried to workout before work and just don't have the time or motivation. A class would/could be motivating though!
With my schedule, I'd have to wake up around 4:15am to get a solid workout in before getting to work at 7am. If I did that, I'd probably need to go to bed at 8 or something super early, so I sacrifice some of my afterwork time to workout so that I can have a semi-normal, although still kind of early, bedtime.
I work out after work, which kind of sucks b/c I typically work til 7. This means I don't get home from the gym til 8:45ish, and then I have to shower and cook dinner. We typically don't eat til 9:30 or 10, and then in bed around midnight.
I don't like this schedule, but it's a tough one to break since going to bed so late makes it hard to get up early enough to work out before work. Sigh, it's a vicious cycle.

Wow jane! what do you do? What time do you get into work? I go to bed at like 9... lol. If I went to bed at midnight I'd be a mess the next day!

I'm an attorney. I am usually at work around 9. I could adjust my hours a bit and get into work earlier (and thus leave earlier), but I need to re-set my biological clock to make this work. I used to be an early bird!
I don't think I could ever go to bed at 9, but reading in bed by 10 sounds really appealing!
