I think it's interesting, and part of me likes it. But it reminds me of the character in that book Middlesex (great book btw) who is a hermaphrodite. Plus I hate the nick name Callie.
I think it's pretty, but it's one of those names that would always make people go, "Oh, that's your name? Huh." The first introduction would always be focused on the name and I think that might get tiring.
This can't be for you, right? You have better taste than that.
It's pronounced cah-lie-oh-pee. Not Callie-ope.
Ok, this pronunciation makes me think of Forgetting Sarah Marshall when he is learning to surf and that super high surf instructor gives him the "Hawaiian name" of Pee-Pee-oh-Pee. Fantastic.
I love the name, but living in new orleans ruined it for me. There is a housing project called Calliope, but pronounced callie-ope, so that is what I think of.
You just have to think of Bruce Springsteen singing about the "calliope crashed to the ground" and how he "went off like a douche" when he was "blinded by the light"
I like the NN Callie, but that's it. Though cat19 I thought of a great boys name for you. If your last name is what I think it is then I thought of the name Davis for you. Also, I really like the name Jameson too, but it would not go with your last name.
cat19 I like Callie, but wouldn't that be a mouthful with Lily? I can just imagine it turning into "Calalieilly" during a future Annoyed Momma Roll Call...
