I feel like every decision I'm making regarding this house comes up to you ladies first. Decor by committee!
Anyhow, we're getting ready to put the upstairs bathroom back together. R has re-installed the toilet and is working on the trim right now, then we'll swap out the faucet and put everything to rights. So I have two questions.
1. With where we're putting the linen dresser (really the only place to put it) our choices are towel bar mounted high over the toilet or towel bar mounted higher over the dresser. I feel like towels over the toilet is gross, but there's literally nowhere else to put a towel bar. Please see the above clicky poll and voice your opinions on towels over a toilet. (P.S. we'll be putting a towel bar in the guest room by the sink so the guest has somewhere to put their towels to keep them separate.) These are solely for our (R & I) towels.
2. We've decided to stick with chrome fixtures in the bathroom b/c they're already installed and changing bathtub fixtures isn't in R's want-to-do list. We bought this faucet for the bathroom:
Is chrome and white too much, as far as accessories go? I was looking at something like this:
but I can't decide if it's overkill or not. Thoughts?
(Edited to change to *actual* towel bar we're considering. Google image fail)
I wouldn't like it hanging over the toilet, but I get grossed out super easily.
Would a coupe towel hooks be an option, as opposed to a bar? They take up less space than a bar, though I'm not sure that would open up alternative location options for you.

If not, the bar you posted looks nice.
We're actually thinking two hooks AND a bar. I use two towels and a bathrobe so I need lots of hanging space. The hooks will go behind the door, I think.
Do you need a towel bar? I have my "for show" towels n a bar and hang the one I'm using from hooks on the door. My mother doesn't have a towel bar in her guest bath, she has an old metal laundry tub with rolled towels in it.
